No, scab is only when there is a strike and someone crosses the picket line and goes to work and flies a plane behind the backs of other coworkers. Obviously, the 9E situation is not scabbing, there is no strike, no picket line.
You're taking my post out of context. My point was this. You ask someone why they'd vote yes to a paycut. They'd say well I have a mortgage and family/kids to feed. All I said is that a scab gives the same reason. It's the reason, not the actual scab. Nor the guy who votes for a cut. There's no comparison between the two, we are only talking about the reasoning behind it. The reasoning to "do it" is the same. It doesn't make you a scab obviously, all I said is that the reason given is the same. What's wrong with that statement? It seems factual. There is no scabbing at 9E obviously, and that the reason given to vote yes is the same kind of reason given by a scab, which is to feed family and pay mortgage.
And legend, I know my history of scabs. The last scab was during the Spirit strike of 2010. A Falcon MD88 crew took a flight to FLL for Spirit Airlines.

Our seniority and longevity system is why pilot groups keep voting in pay cuts over and over again. No one wants to start over. The longevity system needs to go. We need to have one pay scale. A 12 year CRJ first officer should make the same as a year 1 CRJ first officer. It is the same job. There are pilots at my airline that want to take equipment out of it and go to a purely longevity scale. This is the wrong way. We need to make it so it is not such a big deal if an airline goes out of business. We need true unity. The Pinnacle pilots voted as a whole how every single pilot group out there would have. United, Delta, US Airways, American, Frontier, etc. all voluntarily voted for pay cuts to help their airline. On the regional side, Mesa, Comair, Expressjet, etc. same thing. It is not the individual pilots fault. We are very predictable and easily played. Delta needed more large regional jets so they convinced the Delta pilots to give up more large rj scope. They put in a bunch of ratios and threw some 717's so it would not sting so much. DALPA actually believes it was a win. We need to change our culture. We need to be able to start over without losing our houses. Our leverage would sky-rocket.

I was waiting for someone to mention the S word completely out of context, and I knew who it would most likely be. and why even say crap like that and then have some BS disclaimer in the last sentence????? go ahead, if you thought of the scab word initially, call us scabs. Don't sugar coat it.
About the last thing in the world I want to think about is your scab!

I was taken back by your comments especially considering what our Pilot group has gone through, but my last post was un called for and I apologize for that. I wish you success.

I give shy a hard time, but I do know where he is coming from.. He is very easily explained---, let's say you married a chick, and after 4 years of marriage, you find out she has been screwing around on you (blotch award). You try to reconcile and try to make your marriage work, but during this turbulent time in your marriage, you meet a smoking hot flight attendant, (virgin, no pun intended ), so you divorce the hooker wife (quit pinnacle) and marry the hot FA (go to virgin), and you're happy with your life, but still ****ed off that that hooker of a first wife (pinnacle) effed you over. Years later you find out first wife (pinnacle) found another man, (Delta) and looks like she may just do ok without you after all (not get shut down). Deeeeeeeeep down inside your a little happy (shys 1 good comment about 9E out of 6383937363537 negative comments about 9E) but on the surface you want that beotch to burn in hell (9E to shut the eff down). No man can blame him. 80 knots on the other, seems to be just irreconcilable differences. Too many late night drunk fights with the NMFC.
