Nice. How about reserves just off of IOE?

As mentioned I have an interview there on the 21st. Hopefully I'll be in class soon after that.

I'm still applying to RAH and following up with that because you just never know.

All of that I'm aware of and absolutely agree with. I still have questions about 2015, an all 50 seat fleet, and the effects of the US/AA merger. All that said I'm pretty sure I'm willing to roll the dice on those and see what happens down the road.

Most junior bases right now are LGA and ORF. Reserve times are between 1 and 6 months from what I have seen.

I was wondering more about how much time could a guy on IOE credit in general.

Kind of a strange question. What are you trying to figure out, how much you will make while on IOE?

IOE generally only lasts 2-3 weeks. You'll essentially be crediting guarantee as you'll be on reserve as soon as you are finished. I would personally choose AWAC, though the 2015 question is one worth considering.

AWAC has 50 seat RJ's, yes... but they've flown LOTS of other a/c in the last 40 years, no reason they may not change again. The biggest hinderance to the future of Air Wis isn't the CRJ-200, it's the company's inability to secure any RFP's (request for proposals). This is, in part, due to higher labor costs when competing with certain other carriers in their market.

Considering RAH's current contract struggles, which don't seem to be getting any better any time soon, and AWACs awesome contract that they worked very hard for... I would go Air Wis.

Sorry, fat fingers on an iPad!

Average credit hours on reserve, OFF IOE. That's what I was aiming for. Really minor in the grand scheme of things, but curious none the less.

Someone else mentioned to me that AWAC owns most of the 200s free and clear so that helps them be competitive in that airframe.

I'm certainly leaning the AWAC direction if I were get the job there, that's for sure.

Someone else has mentioned that the company doesn't really win RFPs but rather finances their way into flying, kinda like what they did with their current contract. Must be nice to have that kind of scratch laying around.

I don't agree with this. They financed their way into US Airways flying, which IMO was done in desperation as their was no where else to go, and US Airways happened to be desperate for cash themselves. It just happened to work out.

And not to beat a dead horse, but the only reason they had "that kind of scratch" was because they lied to the pilot group and literally stole their money for an investment. Worked out great for the investors. Just saying...

Many here think AWAC's owners will have their hand in the new AA. We won't know until the world knows later this year.

I don't think are labor costs are any higher than SKW, EGL, etc. They seem to not bend much when it comes to length of contract, or CPA's.

This company has good middle mgmt., IMO, that typically go to bat for the pilots....typically. I've had no problems getting time off etc, when personal issues interfere w work.

The real neg I see here is our image. I wouldn't be that happy to buy a tic to fly on a dirty RJ for two hours from PHL to MKE...yucky!
