Eagle or Express Jet Opinions Please

1. No clarity on how many airplanes they will keep flying for Delta and United as these mainlines send 300+ airframes packing
2. EXJ will be parking airplanes this fall I believe
3. They are being asked for concessions on their integrated contract.
What's your point?

SkyWest Inc (which is SkyWest) owns ExpressJet. I would choose Express for that reason alone. SkyWest has never lost money, never furloughed and just inked a deal to fly 175s for United. Will Express see any 175s in this order? In short, no. However, the option is there... If you can wait until the fall we (SkyWest) should resume hiring. If not, hands down I'd go to Express.

So with so many ejets "coming" to property what will happen to the 400 airframes SKW inc operates for United? Will United place most airframes in a single holding company moving forward? How will SKW cost be affected with the 2nd most senior pilot group and highest wages? Also, SKW mentioned that they bid on aggressive cost, what does that mean to you guys. They will need your help, what does that mean.

Also, I believe Express has far more senior cats compared to OO..

Ok fellas...this is the kind of discussions I was looking for. Regardless of what some of my "contacts" have said, I am equally suspicious as it seems to me no one truly knows until everyone knows what happens in the airlines. A lot of conjecture and guessing but some of the points brought out on this thread are what I was looking for.
For example...If I were an Eagle Pilot, why would I not be concerned that Express Jet is beginning to fly Eagle Lines out of DFW. Some other regional, forgive me I don't recall the name, is flying lines for Eagle out of Detroit or somewhere like that. Why would I not, if I were an Eagle flyer, be concerned that some other company with some other companies pilots were flying jets with our passengers out of our domicile?

Keep in mind this saying, "Simple solutions are seldom either". Also, in the airlines, what makes sense to the everyday knuckle dragging line pilot ISN'T how the suits run things. It'll probably remind you of your time in the military on occasion. The way the higher ups make decisions ISN'T always the way it would make sense to do things.

Im betting Eagle will park planes faster than anticipated due to staffing. Heck, cancellations are at full steam this weekend due to no crews. Add the flows leaving and the perfect storm will hit.

skywest is not immune to anything, only if the pilots agree to take pay cuts will they maintain anything they fly for now. eagle is screwed due to pilot and union leadership mentality, lack of any.
the rest just fall in place.
