Who knows maybe by then we will have voted in more pay cuts, because Delta needs to give mainline employees another raise.
Going to pass on that offer! Already know what it's like to be owned by Delta!

I am not sure what I am going to do yet. Trying to figure out where to apply is like trying to choose a proctologist and your trying to choose the doctor with the smallest fingers! It's going to suck either way!

Sad what has happened to the industry. Most people are dumb founded when I tell them how much I made flying people around!

By this time next year, everyone will be hiring. By this time two years from now, anyone who wants a mainline job will be able to get one.
In 40 years of watching the industry and flying professionally, that has never occurred, why will it happen now? Yes, hiring may start up for retirements, but the US airlines will always have their pick. In the '80s, there was a huge rush, loads of guys had two and three offers and many still missed the spree, others got on with now-bankrupt carriers never to go back.

In two years, UAL will have just gotten their furloughees back, AA/USAir combination will be working off flow thrus, DL has a flow agreement and other preferentials. Loads of ex-mil guys coming off AD, 10,000 RJ CAs and FOs , also.

1.) Yes, you probably need your head examined.

2.) Being out of currency with your Comair background won't make one whit of difference to a regional hiring dept. They are all too aware of what happened to Comair and will understand.

3.) As always with a regional, choose one that suits you and your family's needs in terms of domiciles, schedules, reserve time and general QOL. All regionals suck at some level (some at more than one level) and you well know from your time at Comair that today's golden child is tomorrow's pariah. I guarantee you that after Comair, you will be shocked at how bad it is out there (or how good we had it at Comair)!

Good Luck.

I don't want to further derail this thread into a gojet thread (So this will be my last post on the subject here), but what makes them worse than any of the airlines you mentioned was that they were SPECIFICALLY CREATED TO BYPASS A COLLECTIVE BARGAINING AGREEMENT. I really can't make that any clearer. Pinnacle/compass/transstates/colgan/whoever was not a result of trying to avoid negotiating fairly with a union.

This is GOOD advice to everyone else.

Avoid flamebait, trolling, derailments, profanity, religious fervor, political nonsense, racist remarks, sexist commentaries, pictures of half naked women, odious comparisons of your pee and someone else's pee pee. If you do that, your APC experience will be so much better. Think about it!

I could always give you an infraction or two for disguising profanity.
