Flows to Majors. Who will get them?

I'm glad you found one flowthrough that worked, I guess that proves that they're worthwhile. The majority of pilots who have some sort of flowthrough agreement to a major airline are still sitting at a regional, many for 10+ years. Overall I think they are worthless and the pilot groups should never accept them as a carrot in their contract negotiations.
If there is a pilot shortage you won't need contractual language to make it to a major. if there is no pilot shortage you're not making it to a major whether you have a "flowthrough" or not. It's just another set of the emperor's clothes that managements keep selling us and we keep buying.

I didn't realize we were in logic class today. If you want to use that argument I can easily say that by proving one works does not prove that all work. So now I can revise my statement to say that the vast majority of flowthroughs do not work and my point still stands.

Eagle has been stagnant because AA has been stagnant. Stagnation doesn't prove that flow throughs don't work.
Now I'm not saying that flows are good. I'm also not saying they're bad. I'm simply stating that flows can and have worked. They still do.

The reason is irrelevant only that they haven't worked. Also AA has hired off the street in front of the "flowthroughs" who were supposed to be going over, hence all the litigation. It wasn't only stagnation.

After 15 years I'm glad AA finally let 100 guys go over. There were some before I got hired that flowed over as well I believe but I don't remember exactly when that was.

I'm pro pref interview against flows.
Are people who are 1500 deep into an airlines supposed to wait for the 1500 guys on top of them to be offered jobs at mainline before they have a chance to go?
Pref interview still gives special consideration to those at the connection carriers but doesn't hurt the career progression of everyone else.
I know we have a seniority based system in this industry but choosing where to work shouldn't be seniority based. I still think the Mainline interview is the last barrier in making sure someone is a good fit for a place.

Sure, like the Eagle pref interview which are after all the Flows and protected pilots.
