The ATP question stuff wasn't even part of the forums BASIS of which I started.. If I wanted ATP validation I would have posted this in the "Flight Training" section... but thanks for being so supportive

I get your opinion and I respect it from a guy in the industry.. Maybe I can fly with you sometime in 1.5 yrs when I'm already at a regional

Of course I do, I hope I'm one of them but it won't JUST be because of my minimums. There are a lot of people with JUST MINIMUMS as far as I've been told. Not starting an argument here, I sure couldn't win being so new to this industry and I am trying to be humble in the midst of the professionals I will be working with, BUT for christ sake thats ludicrous just to accept someone only to have minimums.. They need some common sense and people/communication skills etc.
If you can fill out an application, answer a phone, and have 1500 hours you can get hired right now. Believe it.

Of course that's how it stands right now in 2014.

Who knows what will happen in 3 years? If airlines start getting picky again all the cracks in your 90-day CFI crash course might make it harder to get hired.

PS- Just because people get hired doesn't mean they stay employed. People with poor foundations wash out of training or IOE, but I assume you already know all of this.

You must have talked with a PSA recruiter. Just about every airline has a base on the east coast (except Skywest) why are you so hung up on PSA right now?

If you find yourself commuting, you should move. There are many East coast airlines. I'm sure one of them will still be around when you reach that point.

And yes, they actually are hiring anyone with the minimums right now. The bad ones wash out in training.

Are you related to a former lead flight instructor from ATP San Diego by chance?

I haven't talked to any "Recruiter" or actually anyone "advocating" PSA however one of my friends just got hired on there and says he likes it, got off reserve already, and is line holding a CRJ900 with the attrition rate progressing fast... I mean "it sounds good" yes I know but I heard similar stuff on the forums here too..? I'm close to Charlotte CLT which there is a base from, I get I won't be there first probably but with high attrition maybe I could get to not commuting faster there? These are why your hearing PSA from me at what I know now...

Yeah, I would recommend not going to PSA. Especially since they stabbed Eagle in the back to get that flying.. And pretty much screwed up the negotiating power of the rest of the industry for that matter. If You want to get ahead, going to someplace that everyone despises won't help you. It will come back to bite you in the a ss later. Remember, those of us senior pilots at the regionals now are the ones that will be on the major airline hiring boards in the future.. There are thousands of us that are pretty angry about what happened here.. And people in this industry that get f-d over by a certain group don't tend to forget it.

Going to that place as a new hire knowing full well what they did to get that flying is no different than voting yes to it yourself. You are just validating management's and that pilot groups tactics.

Just some advice..
