Jazz Pay
#11
Consider the CA vs FO compensation. At Jazz, the CA makes about 41% more than the the FO across the board. At US Regionals, the CA/FO compensation difference is not a flat percentage. It starts at about 65% and peaks at about 91%.
US Regionals need to get real with the pay. It's going to get to the point where they're going to have to hire illegal immgrants to fly their RJ's because there's no way US Citizens are going to continue to put up with this crap. Someone has to be the FO and they shouldn't have to suffer because of it.

In Canada, the downward trend has just started and it will go on for a long time before it gets better.

MSP vs IAH: Texas has no state income tax, and the sales tax is about the same. I figured living in Houston and commuting to MSP, I was better off paying for two apartments and keeping TX as my home or record than moving up north. Basically, if I moved to the land of 10000 lakes, I needed to earn about 25% more gross to equal my Texas standard of living.
Oh, and I don't need a permit to fly model airplanes in Houston, but in Eagan, MN, I was for a short time taken into custody for flying a model (Cox .049 powered control line airplane) without a permit. (NO, I am NOT kidding).

Dude, these passive aggressive jabs at Mesa don't contribute anything. We get it, you don't like Mesa. Fine. Don't work there. I've politely addressed your concerns in another thread, and while I understand and respect that you won't agree, you don't have to take a perfectly innocent and unrelated question as an opportunity to further rail against a company you don't like. It sidetracks productive conversation and turns every well intentioned thread into a shouting match about who has the better B scale.
If it was just once or twice, I'd ignore this post and move on, but this is frequent, among others on the board too.
Fellow pilots, it's a free country, say what you like, but the negative assaults on one another are unwarranted; show the same common courtesy and professionalism you would to one another as if you were face to face.

With the pilots at Envoy, Expressjet, Silver, and Republic all voting NO to any further concessions in this profession, we can all stand with them by not helping the bottom feeders staff their flying! If they can't staff, they'll have to raise pay and benefits, it really is that simple(nothing personal). Everyone is hiring, so why not at least be selective and choose those airlines known for better treatment and pay?

That's the thing. Look at the trends in the two countries. The US has been in the basement for a long time, and due to supply and demand things are finally starting*** to get better.
In Canada, the downward trend has just started and it will go on for a long time before it gets better.

If anything it's trending for the worse in the US. Not the better. The only regional to get a pay raise in the last 5 years as far as I know is Commutair.
