How many more generations of pilots are going to fall for flow throughs. Yes a token amount get flow, but they are designed to staff the right seat of RJs, not the right seat of legacy.
Flow through keeps the peons at their crappy jobs while AA and Delta can hire all their squadron buddies.

I assume you're a junior Envoy pilot who needs a fodder of hapless dopes below you to come to Envoy to improve your chances of the "slow through" working for you, or perhaps a management stooge.
Even if the fool through moves a steady 250 pilots a year to AA every year going forward, the saps who sign on now won't flow for many, many years.

I don't understand all the hoopla about a flow through. If this pilot shortage is such a sure thing, then why is a flow through so valuable? It seems to me there will be plenty of jobs at a mainline in the very near future so why give up anything for a flow? It shouldn't be that hard to get a job. Aren't you folks able to pass an interview and get hired? It sure seems like the Envoy MEC sure put a lot into this flow through section of the TA. Certain folks need the flow through because of too many marks on their record over the years but it seems that should be the exception and not the rule.

This. I don't understand why some don't get this. If you can get on at a place like Envoy where your place at mainline is guaranteed you should jump all over it.
Your interview at Envoy is your interview at AA. One interview and done. Come all the military applicants and Chief pilot sons it won't make a difference because you have your class at AA guaranteed.
As always, PM me those who are interested in Envoy. I'll help you get an interview and answer any questions.

Exactly. There will be plenty of open spots at the majors soon. Flow is a management tool to keep the right seats of the RJs full. It is a way to entice the new guys that don't know any better, into coming to that regional to fill the right seat and to stay there until their flow # comes up. That will take years.
Flow gives management control over your career, and they will keep you in the cheap seats as long as they can. In the near future, you will be able to prep for the interview and get to a major on your own much more quickly than any flow is going to get you there. Do not give anything up for flow. It will no longer be needed.

I have known several CA at eagle that applied and were hired at AA where it would have taken several years to wait for their number to come up to flow. They are waaaayyy ahead of their peers that were senior to them at Eagle.
Do you really think that the pilots and their union at AA are going to give up their control to whom they hire to Envoys hiring department? I agree with Skyler. This flow through stuff is just a marketing tool. Why do you think management put so much stock in it.
And Skyvector, I would image 98% of those application that are sitting at mainline are current regional pilots. And how many of them do you think applied at several airlines?
I think I would have told AAG during negotiations that they can keep their flow and in return we want a fleet guarentee of 130 175's. I guarentee you that Parker will be back when they get 41 airplanes (the number needed to trigger PBS) and will use the other 89 airplanes to get PBS the way AAG wants it or more concessions. And do you think that if they can't staff the 175's because of the lack of pilots that Parker will park brand new airplanes to honor a flow agreement? You think he would choose a pilot contract over shareholders?
