I had the same thing happen in BDL.
"It's not about how much is in there, it's the size of the container"

As if somehow we're gonna get ahold of the contraband inside security to fill up the tube with. Even though you can take empty containers (such as water bottles through.

When I told the guy that, he just said that the tube was over 3 ounces. Then he asked me if I wanted to mail it to myself. I had to remember that I'm a professional, so I refraned from telling him to shove it.

If you really want to get their tits in a wringer, get a couple of those new liquor bottles that come in the 100ml size. 100ml is the official limit and that equates to 3.38 ounces. Also, in Europe 100ml tubes of shaving creme are available and they always look at it an me cross-eyed because it looks way over 3 ounces......until I point out that it is legal.

Why do airline pilots go through security? Why not use the same door ramp agents use?

On a related subject, I was going through customs once in full uniform and the agent asked "and what do you do for a living?"

So many things I wanted to say, but they could screw up your day big time.

....raising your voice and yelling at people who do not speak or understand english will not get your point across... What a bunch of circus monkeys....TSA...they're like dentists, in the medical field but not quite doctors... I can't wait til they get their new uniforms and badge so I could ask them what will change now that they have a shiny gold badge!!!

Because in 1989 or 1990 a former PSA ramp rat lost his job, the next day he proceeded to bring a handgun to the office. Didn't kill anyone there he boarded the flight killed the crew. causing a crash. Yes the crew going through security would have stopped it. Since the guy that actually did it went through the ramp agent door. So it makes no sense to me, there are still places where we dont go through security but it gets smaller every year.

I don't understand this story. Did he kill the crew in the air? And what difference did it make whether or not the crew went through security?

"a TSA employee dumps bomb making materials into a large collection container, effectively making a gigantic bomb in the middle of a huge group of people."

...exactly.

But regardless, they've used that incident as an excuse to screen crews ever since.
