They are trying to push through a concessionary deal that will not stand with the pilot group. Its a total scare tactic, they haven't released any specifics as to what is going to shrink. They are trying to whip up fear and its not going to work. The pilot group knew about this announcement days ago. Its either pay us what we are worth, or this place gets shut down. The union is not being unreasonable, the company just refuses to negotiate. They are saying take it or leave it in a market that does not favor them. This is what holding the line looks like.

Interesting... it's crazy to think that with the short supply of pilots out there, a better CBA is still hard to imagine right now at RAH.

Please tell me how you know that the union is "not being unreasonable." Really, I have seen absolutely nothing from the union. The company has at least shown us bits and pieces. The union needs to remember this is a negotiation, not a list of demands. Also, tell me how you know that what the company has offered is "concessionary."

Maybe what the union has been demanding is so far out in left field that no progress was being made that the company just said "fck it, here ya go!"

The union came out with their original figure for backpay fully expecting the company to negotiate on that figure. They knew full well they weren't going to get it, but thats why its called negotiating, start high and meet in the middle. The company responded by throwing a sh!tfit, releasing well vetted details from their "comprehensive" proposal and now they are headed the route of doom and gloom! Textbook union busting. Not going to work this time, they will either pay up or this place goes away and the first of hopefully ALL the regionals kicks and screams and spits its way into history.

Bedford needs to be thrown out on his ass and RAH headquarters needs a good housecleaning so the hard-working crews that hold RAH together can finally not be ashamed to tell people where they work...and can earn enough to pay their bills.

Does anyone think that the backpay number is unreasonable? That massive number is the amount that the company has stolen from you, me, and every other RAH pilot since this contract became amendable.

Ladies and Gentlemen:

All the regional managements know that once one of them raises pay and benefits, the cat is out of the bag and they ALL will have to to remain competitive. Much like when PSA voted in concessions setting the bar lower (hopefully temporarily).

Management knows that time is short, and is not on their side. Hold the line, this profession is counting on you. If you hold the line, Major Airline mgt will eventually HAVE to raise the rates they pay the regionals or their business model will have to change. It should.
