Makes sense... that's where they recruit from. Same goes for these RAH jokers.

I would hope not, I can't see how anyone would justify taking a job there now with EVERY other Regional better in almost every category. With quick upgrades and flow at most regionals and better pay (when you figure in RAH and their lack of cancelation and soft pay) you can't really justify taking an offer at RAH over PSA Compass SKW or TSA. There are a few exceptions like Horizon with longer upgrades, but there you have better pay and base structure and culture.

Ok, now that I am done bashing RAH I will be as objective as I can......as far as basing goes anyways. There are a few people that will tell you horror stories about outstation basing and I feel some light should be shed on that. They seem mostly false as the most JUNIOR bases are at hubs or larger cities (MIA PIT JFK LGA), and the most SENIOR bases are the outstations (GSO SDF IFP). Just trying to paint an accurate picture, still, DO NOT GO TO RAH!!!!!!

Would they be any better if they signed a new, better contract? Would they be able to attract more pilots in that case? Surely they can't expect the status quo anymore given how bad it's become over there.

I would assume that's ultimately up to management. There were several RAH guys posting about how close a new contract was, but that was 2 weeks ago. I haven't heard anything since.

I also heard rumors about that, but now it seems like they're not close to an agreement anymore. They must be losing pilots like crazy right now.

Well remember, RAH is not wholly owned so I don't see how a flow could be established. They fly for Delta United and American right now between two certificates. There is currently a $12500 bonus for new hires, but no retention bonus like Endeavor or fast upgrade like PSA/TSA/Mesa. So pay rates would have to at least match Endeavor and upgrades drop to 12 months for them to be competitive with other regionals. But that ain't gonna happen.

Upgrades are dropping. I don't think we will ever see a 1 year upgrade at rah but I believe it will stabilize at 3-4 years here soon. I would hope rah management knows that the new contract has to be something no regional has seen to attract new hires in this environment. I am cautiously optimistic at this point. The current nc is top notch and won't settle for anything but the best. It's gonna be all or nothing at this point.

The ship has sailed. At the rate we are hiring (-10 a month, yes thats right, we are losing 10 guys a month over and above how many we hire), get ready for downgrades.

Its simple, lose a NET of 10 pilots a month (that is, if they can still hire 25-35 fools every month), means they have to give up flying, which is exactly what RAH has done. They are asking their partners to reduce flying.

According to our CEO, the pilots are responsible for the state of RAH. We have handcuffed management . This place is beyond help now.

Upgrades were 8 years, now 5 years, moving towards downgrades now.

Lifers (no ill-will towards you guys, you did what you had to do in this crappy industry), and fools who are getting hired today, please dont forget to turn out the lights.

Bless God!

2 Questions on that from a non-RAH person. Didnt Delta say they wanted to extend the -145 operations? Something like ~30 airplanes? Add the 50 175s for United, even with the parking of the Qs isn't that a net gain of airplanes?

Also, someone posted that only 41 of the 47 175s doing "American Eagle" will be flying this summer. Is this due to staffing (giving flying back to AAG) or just how the schedule worked out?

LOL, optimistic about BB and Co, that's hilarious. Thanks for giving me
something to chuckle about today.

Glad most of my close friends who were still at RAH have moved onto greener pastures in the last year. Burn baby burn!!!
