And the previous contract Comair just magically disappeared! I was there for that! 50 seat airplane cuts and the rise of the 717! Courtesy of ALPA! Until this thing is print I am making no conclusions! I have zero confidence in ALPA these days. Curious what five years of meeting in Cabo or the Bahamas has drummed up!

Wait, you are complaining that ALPA condoned more 717s for 50 seat cuts?

Sorry I have been off the forum for some time. What did the new agreement change in terms of pay and benefit?
Thank you |

After serving on the Air Wisconsin MEC from 2012-2015 I can say with the utmost certainty that this TA is the direct result of the hardest working bunch of ear biting sows in the industry. It never once mattered that another carrier ratified a concessionary deal. The AWAC pilots and MEC knew that they were valuable and they are worth more.
The MEC and the pilots at AWAC came together as brothers in arms to get this deal done. Not once was anything less than current book ever on the table. I witnessed first hand how a functional MEC is supposed to operate. Those members who currently serve the AWAC pilots including the negotiating committee are some of the most dedicated people I've ever met. There isn't one ego among the MEC only a common goal-GET MORE! I'm sorry if I leave anyone out, but Chris, Jeff, Thorne, Mark, Bob, David, Richard, Matt, Will, Reed, Collin, Carl, and all the AWAC pilots-Bravo! I can't wait to see wait to see the show! |

Any chance these guy want to come over to RAH and fix our little dilemma too? [emoji6] |
I heard 200% junior man assignments are in the deal but obviously only a rumor at this point.

Someone correct me if I'm wrong, but isn't AWAC the only independent jet regional that flies strictly for a single carrier?
Republic TSH SkyWest incl XJT/ASA Mesa All operate for multiple mainline partners. In order for Republic to staff their large operation they need to pay more, and therefore mainline needs to reimburse them more. Clearly they can afford it, but if say AA pays Republic more, they'd be subsidizing them for Delta and United feed as well. Same goes for Delta and United amending the contract and paying more. With AWAC, AA can pay more and therefore guarantee staffing the flying, yet be reassured that all that money goes directly back to their bottom line. My guess is that is why Delta has subsidized Pinnacle/Endeavor like they have, and AA has focused on adding capacity to their wholly owns. Yeah, they may cost a little more to operate but at least you're not subsidizing the other carriers' costs as well. Looking at the highlights it would be a Yes from me if I were still there. One thing guys at the regionals need to understand is you're not going to see legacy/major contracts. It's just not going to happen, and having expectations for that is just going to set yourself up for failure. Take what you can get now. Especially with these enhancements, the AWAC contract is pretty damn good. With 200% pay for junior manning, and getting your day back on top of that, I would be begging to be getting JM'd. Every day. |
