Remember that most of the people that go to Riddle do not know much about the aviation industry prior to attending. They are just misinformed about many things because they probably don't know anyone in the industry to give them the real story. It does not help that Riddle's PR department spreads all of the inaccurate information that they do. Many smart people will still go there but they will transfer out, hopefully with minimum financial damages, when they realize what the situation is. That's the best they can hope for.

"Then don't go there. Simple."
That's what I'm here to tell people.
No one doubts the purpose of a Diablo. It's intended for a privileged few, and is primarily a display of wealth and status. It has no practicality, is inherently wasteful in every aspect, and is useless as a comparison to a college degree, whose purpose is to gain entry or advantage in a field. There is no advantage to be gained when taking on that sort of debt in a career that pays so little for so long.
"Flying is embarrassingly easy, it only gets hard when you do it well."
Never mind the flying. The non-flying classroom portion (about 115 credits worth) of the degree is embarrassingly easy to do well.

sflpilot - I think that is a wrong statement to make. In fact, I was recommended to go there by both a Delta Captain and a American Captain. Most of the people whom I graduated with, had prior aviation experience before attending Riddle. So to make that statement is pretty uninformed. If people want to spend their money and go to Riddle, thats their choice.
What I find most amusing is that the people on here that b!tch about Riddle the most, are either brand new in the "biz" or are not flying for hire in any capacity. It seems to me that you guys are drinking alittle too much of the anti-riddle industries "cool aid" as you guys say.
There are alot of us out here that are glad we went to Riddle and in-fact have been told on a few occasion by people who are really in the industry that they respect Riddle and its graduates.

I'll bet the Delta captain and American captain wouldn't recommend it now, if they're aware of how much it costs.

I went to Riddle and wouldn't recommend it. The trashing that Riddle takes at this site is mirrored at Jetcareers. I think there are just quite a few in the industry that regret the decision to go there once all is said and done.

Not worth the money? Low quality? Degree choices limited?
Just curious. Thanks!

I went to Riddle-Diddle and then transferred to UND... And guess what... I'm at the regional level with everyone else who did what it took to get here, as well as all of us to aspire to continue to legacy carriers. So in the end, the answer to everything is at least go to a college and get an education in something. Make a lot of friends, because they will be your future contacts. Past that, it's quite apparent that it really doesn't matter much.

I know people who have Graduated from ERAU, and other Flight Colleges. I must say that before I came to this site, I never heard any major complaints, just the usual complaints from the average college student, they all basically agreed they enjoyed it. All of them are in good career positions and making a fair amount of money.
I agree with the post made, for every negative post that is made about Riddle, or any other Flight College for that matter, their are probably 10 postive posts that are never made, because people tend to only be vocal about the negatives, and someone with a postive view of the school is not going to go online and defend it. Those who feel a need to complain about their negative expeirences are the ones you hear about, not the ones who liked it.
