I belive all of that screening (which is what I do in Del Rio) will no longer be awarded to ERU because it's being moved to Pueblo Colorado where another company won a contract to centralize everything.

Point is, most of us love to ragg on each other. It's fun, and it gives us something to do. You just need to suck it up and get some thicker skin. There is nothing necessarily wrong with graduating from riddle, but it's easy to poke fun at you guys. Just take it in stride and smile....

What a tool you are. I have yet to meet a single "*********, smarta$$, and unnecessarily cocky people" flying at UPS. Where do you get off being such a jerk?

I find them here trying to shout louder than the rest.

Ummm... Aldrin was a west pointer, and Armstrong went somewhere in California, USC I think. They were the first crew, don't know about the last.

Who has the right to call them wrong if they decide to fund (or finance) an ERAU education ?

There are some who "attended" ERAU who are critical. I would give more credit to criticism from those who "graduated." Hopefully they send critiques back in an attempt to improve the institution.

What other Aviation College can claim the following.

Embry-Riddle has a $30 million contract with the U.S. Department of Defense that maintains the University's long-time status as the sole provider of aviation-related degree programs to the U.S. military in Europe.

Embry-Riddle has a $14.5 million contract to screen Air Force pilots at the U.S. Air Force Academy in Colorado Springs and also provides training to Air Force, Air National Guard, and international flight safety officers at Kirtland Air Force Base in Albuquerque, N.M.

The University offers more than 30 degree programs.

Embry-Riddle is the nation's largest supplier of air traffic controllers with bachelor degrees to the FAA.

Embry-Riddle's two Air Force ROTC detachments form the largest university-based Air Force commissioning source in the nation. The detachments also produce more commissioned officers and more pilots and other rated officers for the Air Force than any other institution in the nation except the Air Force Academy.

Six Embry-Riddle alumni are current or former astronauts: Daniel Burbank, B. Alvin Drew, Ronald Garan Jr., Susan Kilrain, Nicole Stott, and Terry Virts Jr.

Combined annual enrollment for all campuses is more than 34,000.
Yes other private universities cost the same. The difference is that many of the graduates at other schools will be making a reasonable salary after graduation. Their investment paid off for them. This is not the case for a large majority of ERAU graduates. The ERAU people will be paid very low wages for several years in the aviation industry. The investment does not pay off for the ERAU people. It is a personal decision, I just want people to have the facts to consider.

Ok, let me rephrase. "*********, smarta$$, unnecessarily cocky, and the occasional person completely unaware of their surroundings."

Have you lost your mind? Find a big group of pilots, mechanics, load masters... whoever, and tell me that they act like normal people! The people in aviation is what makes it so great, and what makes it such a fun and entertaining field to work in. Generally speaking, pilots are confident, intelligent, and observant. Most, you probably don't count, are also fun to be around.

Hold on, you don't get it... let me break it down:

Confident = "*********s"
Smartass = "Witty. Quick on their feet. Fun to be around. Not boring"
Unnecessarily cocky = You! Because you could say "in my experience in aviation," but you chose to say HEY EVERYONE I WORK AT UPS in your post.

This is also a field where displaying confidence is extremely important, so you're just going to have to forgive me if I was a little harsh to a kid crying about his riddle experience. The way I see it, he has a great job and probably a great future ahead of him. He has nothing to complain about.

I guess it's a good thing you don't get paid to think. Armstrong may have gotten his Masters from USC, but his BS in Aeronautical Engineering came from Purdue.
(The last was Eugene Cernan.)

I can see where your coming from...I just started going to this flight school and everyone from private pilots to CFI's walk around the place like were in "Top Gun" training. I got tired of trying to be mr. nice guy and freindly. The expericece has opened my eyes and made me wonder what kind of arrogant jerks I may meet on the career path to the airlines. I worked at a class B airport for 5 years and it seems like the old timers that fly the heavies have alot more class and are alot more approachable.
