Default Not all ERAU Grads are the same!

My parents where helping me out then and they were convinced that I should stay and so I did hoping that maybe I am just a little to negative about the whole experience... I worked every summer and weekends and still managed to owe them $50k. I know it was the biggest mistake I ever made in my life but I am not cocky or arrogant like some people from that place are. So, whenever someone asks me where I went to school, I tell them that I went to school in Florida. Some people try to dig deeper and I tell them the truth... As soon as they hear ERAU they take cheap shots at me, sometimes lasting the entire 4 day trip. I know that some people from Riddle "suck" but I don't go around telling people how great I am, so why do people have the need to make me feel more regretful about attending Riddle than I feel already?
I'm an ERAU Grad (88) and I never even set foot on the Daytona campus. I earned mine while flying active duty in the Army assigned to the 101st ABN. Nights, weekends and home life suffered but it was a goal I needed to achieve. I paid the high tuition of ERAU with tuition assistance (paid back by time in the Army) and my checkbook, Mom and Dad didn't factor into the picture. I also didn't attend the graduation, I wasn't in it for that, and I needed a 4-year Degree to further my military career. There are guys and gals right now taking ERAU classes all over the world, including Iraq and Afghanistan! So there is more than one kind of ERAU Grad. I'm not saying you had it any easier, but you made your choice of schools (with loans and your parents money). Oh...I got asked about my ERAU Diploma at my interview for a Major Airline last year...I gave them the same answer as this (maybe a little less harsh, but the truth) and got the job! You have to compete in life to be successful and there are many ways to achieve your goals, stop your whining.....move on.

I worked at a class B airport for 5 years and it seems like the old timers that fly the heavies have alot more class and are alot more approachable.
And when those CFIs and Students become old timers they will, most of them atleast, will be like the old timers today. When people are near the bottom of the "food chain" they will be more on guard, more cocky, more out to prove themselves, its just a fact of life. Once you start racking up time, and you become more confident, you do not have the urge to prove yourself as much, you dont have to be cocky, because you are confident. Its how things are.

You should be "imbaressed" by your lack of command of the English language...

Here's what's more important: what other aviation college charges nearly $13K a semester? Does the vaunted aero sci degree confer any advantage to remotely justify that cost? No.
Parks college in St. Louis is $13,125 per semester, plus flight training. Purdue is $22,526 for a non-resident year's tuition ($33,00+ for room and board, books, etc..), plus flight training. I'm sure I can find a few more, but I'm not going to waste my time. College is expensive.
