Without any ME time they are stuck.

Fortunately, ATP has a new program where they can transition as commercial rated pilots to airline pilots for 25K. Why not? They already have 140K+ in debt. Whats another 25K? No regrets.

I agree. I am starting to suspect LAFF is associated with ATP atp and is paid by them to advertise of this forum. I am sure there must be a rule on the forum about advertising and spam, cause at least 30% of your posts contain blatent ATP advertisement (aka Koolaid).
I have little respect for the quality of ATP schools, but I don't go out telling the whole world.

Are you sure you don't work in the sales dept at ATP?

I am not an ERAU graduate (Nebraska and Auburn) but think ERAU has something to crow about. All those who slam it as being expensive should check recent costs at any private college. Take out the flight program and there isn't much different. Besides what my children and I decide to spend on their college education is OUR business; famlies set different priorities on spending. Who has the right to call them wrong if they decide to fund (or finance) an ERAU education ?

There are some who "attended" ERAU who are critical. I would give more credit to criticism from those who "graduated." Hopefully they send critiques back in an attempt to improve the institution.

What other Aviation College can claim the following.

Embry-Riddle has a $30 million contract with the U.S. Department of Defense that maintains the University's long-time status as the sole provider of aviation-related degree programs to the U.S. military in Europe.

Embry-Riddle has a $14.5 million contract to screen Air Force pilots at the U.S. Air Force Academy in Colorado Springs and also provides training to Air Force, Air National Guard, and international flight safety officers at Kirtland Air Force Base in Albuquerque, N.M.

The University offers more than 30 degree programs.

Embry-Riddle is the nation's largest supplier of air traffic controllers with bachelor degrees to the FAA.

Embry-Riddle's two Air Force ROTC detachments form the largest university-based Air Force commissioning source in the nation. The detachments also produce more commissioned officers and more pilots and other rated officers for the Air Force than any other institution in the nation except the Air Force Academy.

Six Embry-Riddle alumni are current or former astronauts: Daniel Burbank, B. Alvin Drew, Ronald Garan Jr., Susan Kilrain, Nicole Stott, and Terry Virts Jr.

Combined annual enrollment for all campuses is more than 34,000.

Default lake effect

Try flying in the winter at either WMU or Northwestern Michigan college. Then you will know cold and lake effect!!!!! Traverse City gets lake effect snow everyday. This makes a pilot respect the weather a lot more than say someone in Florida or Texas. Some of these guys that fly in Florida there whole life don't even know what icing is. yes you will get the ratings faster but not the real world experiance.

So what? Most other private colleges aren't relevant to this forum. If this were a general college forum, advice against overpriced schools of all kinds would be common.

Besides what my children and I decide to spend on their college education is OUR business; famlies set different priorities on spending. Who has the right to call them wrong if they decide to fund (or finance) an ERAU education ?
The purpose of this forum is to exchange ideas and provide advice. If you don't like that advice, that's too bad. Feel free to disregard it, but don't pretend it doesn't have a place here.

Here's what's more important: what other aviation college charges nearly $13K a semester? Does the vaunted aero sci degree confer any advantage to remotely justify that cost? No.
