Default Questions about Eagle

Hey guys, I'm a student at UND and I still have some time yet before I finish up, but I had a few questions regarding AE.....

I hear they are still hiring like crazy...does that mean for all planes in the fleet? Or do most new hires go to the turboprops?

Is it possible to get the CRJ as a new hire FO with min total time?

Also, is ORD a senior base for Eagle?

Depend on where they need you, you could get anything anywhere.

Yes, see above answer.

LAX is the most senior. As far as CRJ FO goes, ORD is more senior than DFW, it is the other way around for ERJ FO

The past few classes have been 20+ and they are having classes every 2 weeks. They have been hiring directly into most all a/c and bases (except LAX EMJ). CRJ as a newhire is definitely possible. If you weren't awarded ORD as a newhire you could probably get awarded a transfer and be based there within a few months after finishing training. If you start out on a turboprop (SF3 or ATR) then you are seatlocked for 1 year. After that year you would have no problem bidding the ERJ or CRJ in any base (except maybe LAX ERJ). Here are the breakdowns for the last few classes:

1/08/07
8 LGA EMJ
10 ORD EMJ
3 MIA ATR
3 SJU ATR
3 LAX SF3

1/22/07
5 EMB--all ORD
9 ATR--4 MIA/5 SJU
6 SF3--3 DFW/3 LAX

Thanks for the quick replies. Would you guys recommend Eagle? I know that SKW, AWAC and Express jet are all popular places. Now with AA recalling their pilots, how long do you think it'll take for upgrades to improve at eagle?

I personally think Eagle is a decent place to be, but if you are looking for a quick upgrade then I wouldnt recommend it. I cant realistically see the upgrades dropping below the 3-4 year mark unless something big happens.

I would NOT recommend AWAC at this time... Perhaps in a couple months, but definitely not right now...
