I'm with the OP on this. It really is ridiculous. I think the same thing: 'who the heck is sitting next to this douche bag'?

Agreed. It is ridiculous, childish, and never really all that funny.

You honestly think the FAA has the manpower to find every plane that was in that sector to pull their tapes? Stick to com 1 in your Cessna 172 if guard is bothering you.

I think people who play on guard are complete morons. That being said, when I'm bored stiff I might turn up #2 and get a chuckle from the antics. I'm sure I'm part of the problem, just being honest!

Again, I think it's unprofessional but that doesn't mean anything will ever happen to anyone.

Oh, and it's written in federal law. An aviation lawyer would have your certificate action thrown out so fast the inspector's head would spin.

I really am sorry you're not smart enough to understand that.
Yeah....

Tell that the homie in prison for 14 for playing laser pointer games.

Man gets 14 years for pointing laser at helicopter

This crap is stupid. And it ranks right up there with laser pointer idiots. The FAA can and will make an example. Anyone who is stupid enough to sign up to become the example has no sympathy from me. It is actually a safety thing. Like I mentioned before, I heard a controller trying to talk a private pilot out of trouble on top of an overcast when the guard clown car stopped in. Not funny at all.

Plus, this will wind up in the media one day. Pilots already have enough image issues without these ****ing idiots making it worse.

I ain't looking for a new job. I'm just saying that I know a heck of a lot of people are. What a stupid way to rule oneself out from any chance at one.

You should probably settle down a little....your head is going to explode with how spun up you are getting on this.

"Discipline" is a company thing. "Certificate action" is not discipline. Anything on the CVR can definitely be used by the FAA.

I know those FARs are hard to read and understand.

Dude,

You're rant is not without merit, but you do yourself no favors when you can't admit you got it wrong. Your CVR theory doesn't hold any water. Coming here to ***** won't do anything other than provide an outlet for your frustrations. Just ignore it when you hear it. If you correct it, then even though you are doing a good thing, you aren't in practical terms any better than the guys that are perpetrating the buffoonery in the first place; you're still blocking the frequency. Just turn it down for a few minutes next time...it will be better for your sanity.

He never served 14 years, his sentence was overturned (ended up with 21months)

Go eat some turkey, take a nap, and enjoy your Thanksgiving.
