I'm picturing a redfaced jcountry sitting at Thanksgiving dinner silently consumed with savage thoughts of people transmitting on guard frequency.

This crap is stupid. And it ranks right up there with laser pointer idiots. The FAA can and will make an example. Anyone who is stupid enough to sign up to become the example has no sympathy from me. It is actually a safety thing. Like I mentioned before, I heard a controller trying to talk a private pilot out of trouble on top of an overcast when the guard clown car stopped in. Not funny at all.

Plus, this will wind up in the media one day. Pilots already have enough image issues without these ****ing idiots making it worse.

I ain't looking for a new job. I'm just saying that I know a heck of a lot of people are. What a stupid way to rule oneself out from any chance at one.

How did we get on laser pointing? There are people who shine laser at cops. And they have the technology to track you. Faa does not have the ability to track who is on guard and pull their tapes. Give it a rest, just admit you're wrong and get over it.

What in hell is happening on 121.5 these days? Seriously??

At least 80% of the time, clowns were playing games on guard. No. It really isn't funny.

My question is:
-Who is sitting next to these guys?

There is absolutely no chance that two pilots in the same plane think this crap is funny. It is not funny the first time, and it really loses its appeal after 12K times from the same idiot. (In my experience today, I heard the same voice for at least 2 hours.... )

I know I can't change the mind of any fool who is gonna play guard games all across the country. I can't fix stupid.

BUT-I would like to appeal to whomever is sitting next to these morons. Whether the guard clown is a capt or f.o. is irrelevant. Crews get violated together. And someone is sitting next to each and every one of these retards.

It would be very easy for some FAA guys to catch you. They really do have the technology. And all our planes are equipped with CVRs. A quick DF or two, and they have the general location. Pull a simple CVR, and you are done. ASAP will never protect anyone from this kind of crap.

So...... Next time the guard clown in the seat beside you gets going, tell him to shut the hell up. There is simply no way to explain a violation for something like this..... No way in the world.

Imagine the interview for your dream job.... "You were violated for doing what on 121.5?" "Thanks for coming. Go **** yourself."

It ain't funny. And important people hear it. If you have any aspirations of moving on, please stop the guy next to you from doing this crap. You may just save your career.

(Not to mention that an actual emergency aircraft could really be trying to get help during the time these guard clowns are whacking off.)

I know those FARs are hard to read and understand.
While "the administrator" may not, the "operator" might use it as a tool to find the toolbag, who needs some unpaid time off for other reasons. Finding the offending moron shouldn't be hard, remember the idiot who got popped on his check ride texting, stupidity is a way of life. This will eventually solve its self. The FCC is another entity who might frown on 121 dooshbaggery though.
I just turn #2 down until the goober goes to another freq.

I think everyone is missing the point. 121.5 is EMERGENCY. What happens when the poor guy who needs it can't get a word in cause of all the foolishness. Where's the professionalism?

If you correct it, then even though you are doing a good thing, you aren't in practical terms any better than the guys that are perpetrating the buffoonery in the first place; you're still blocking the frequency. Just turn it down for a few minutes next time...it will be better for your sanity.

I never wrote anything about correcting anyone. I never keyed the mic.

For those who think they won't get caught, let me introduce you to Battle of Britain technology: There is this cool thing called "direction finding." It uses three or more stations to determine the origin of broadcast. Just use that and the ATC tapes, and you have the offending aircraft. (And when that jackass says"guaaaarrrrd" and "work work work" over and over for hours, it really wouldn't be hard to figure out.)

You guys who think this is funny, just go right ahead and let 'er rip! Sooner or later, some of you will get caught. It will be nice to know I will never see you operating my company's planes.
