Default Bitter taste at Colgan

You know Saabrowski, if you think the airplane was such a piece of junk why is your screenname so similar to the plane you despise so much. Furthermore, of course you think the plane is a piece of junk because you were based at a maint base where you dealt with broken airplanes on a regular basis. You know they fly many hours a day, just think if you drove your car that way, how often do you think it would be in the shop? Furthermore, you were at a base that had limited flying. Go to IAH where there are overnights and many airports you fly in and out of. You chose your base, an unfortunately it wasn't what you thought. Make a change, don't bash the company, because when you bash the company you bash the people that work there including your fellow pilots. Also, I think you or someone mentioned something about how Colgan doesn't pay well. Let me throw this out there; if I were getting paid $60+ /hour do you think I would have an incentive to leave to a major to be an FO for many years making less than that for at least the first 3 to 5 years?! Let me tell you something, if Colgan paid well, CA's would not leave, thereby slowing the FO upgrades. And for clarification before this year Colgan was upgrading at about 12 to 14 months contrary to what you and others think. The expansion had stopped last November thereby slowing the upgrade time. But now that we are getting 15 Q's, that is going to be about 75 CA to go from SAAB to Q. 75 new FO's to staff the Q. Guess what, upgrade time is going to go very quickly come the end of this year. However, I will grant you that upgrade for an FO on the Q will be about nil for sometime.
So if I were you SAAbrowski, I would stop the Colgan bashing, continue praising XJT where you are at. However, knowing the SAAB, it is a very good airplane and I really think you should keep your screen name as it is, it just looks bad when you bash the SAAB but you carry it in your screen name.
Good luck young man, you still have a lot of growing to do along with your company

... but that's just one opinion.

Looks like Chuck and the boys will buy back those old 1900's and start Colgan number 3.

I don't know a Colgan pilot that doesn't love the Beech or the SAAB, but the truth is they do break sometimes and can be a pain for the pilots. BTW, SAAB has never said he hated the SAAB 340.

What's the difference between a "MEL", and a DMI?
Look at the results of the investigation, and the results of the Charlotte one (Air Midwest). A few people had to share the blame for these.

Well the HYA crash was blamed on the pilots for not doing the trim test before the flight, however if the the airplane was put back together correctly in the first place, wouldnt have killed two pilots, COLGAN blamed the pilots COMPLETELY, from what I understand that particular mx guys still workds there, and it was only a few months before zi left Colgan that another incident happend involving the SAAB, crew cuaght it though

MEL is something that is inoperational or defered on the airplane. DMI would be like a ding in the wing, or speed tape around a nav light.

There was another Colgan Beech incident back in 2005. Crew took off and they had to give it nose down trim the whole flight to keep it straight and level.
