Experienced 135 Captain to 121 Regional
Hey guys,
I was hoping to get some advice on regional choices. I really don't want this to turn into my regional is better then yours, but I'd like some honest opinions. I'm not asking you guys to make the decision, just point me in the right direction to do my own research.
I know next to nothing about 121 but it's time to make the move to further my career.
I'm a current 135 Air Ambo Pilot out of PHX. Though the pay, schedule, and QoL is outstanding, it just isn't what I want to do for the rest of my career.
My current times are:
3600 TT
2000 Multi
1800 TPIC (Mostly in Metro's, and a bit in the Pilatus)
Zero Jet or 121 Time
Without digging through every airline and CBA I'm asking for some regionals to look into.
I am 27 with a fiance and a kid. I'll probably move back in with my parents for a year to pay off any debt I have and to save for a down payment on a house (and also shed my rent payment).
What I'm looking for:
-Regional with a base near CLE (DTW, CMH, PIT)
-Regional with a long call reserve if possible so I can drive in.
-Has to be a jet, already have way to much TP time on my resume.
-Highest possible pay because the pay cut is going to be brutal.
-Commuter programs (Hotels in base) so I don't have to rent a crashpad if possible.
Thanks for the help in advance,
-j

As soon as you said DTW, it was Endeavor. Only other thing you might consider is Delta Private Jets. They have home basing, a guaranteed interview program at DAL, and used to have a quick upgrade (don't know anymore).
And I'm a PDT homer.

After doing a tiny bit of research I think the only two I'm considering is Endeavor and Republic. The plus side to Republic being getting a line out of PIT out of training and no reserve...no crashpad. Though Endeavor seems like a better place to be I'd have to sit reserve for at least a couple months up in DTW.

Have you considered CommutAir? Great people, small company, and we are growing rapidly. We are tripling in size in the next two years and many management positions will be open as a result. Many of these management positions are available in CLE, which could be a great drive to work. It looks better on your resume than jet time.
When you transition to United through the CPP or get hired directly, the junior base is EWR. It wouldn't be a far commute from CLE. Unfortunately, CLE is a senior base for United.

I used to work for C5 as a FA right as the Dash program came on board. They did me dirty (not terminated) and I have no desire to go back. I have some aviation leadership experience in my current position and way to much turboprop time. It doesn't help my resume enough IMHO.
