You clearly know nothing about politics or regulation or globalisation or fair trade. Read a few books and come back then.

They're about to be regulated... This is the funniest thing I've read in a LONG time.

May fav so far is have fun selling your soul. The point is ALPA has let the exact same thing happen in its back yard. The regional industry was sold down the river by ALPA by the major pilots to off set and increase their pay. While I was in CPH a while back I was talking to a new pilot for NAI, they start out at about 90k USD from what he was saying. So you looks like in the regional industry you can either sell you soul, or the pilots at the majors can sell it for you. Most of those pilots have never had to work a regional, and it shows.

Personally, I think if you are going to ask the regional guys to have you back, you should start having theirs. Stop saying well if you want to be here you have to help us. If you want to bully people go back to high school. These scare tactics only go so far, and since there is no promise of this movement to the majors, or help from the pilots at the majors, why should the regional pilots really care. The pilots at the majors have been using these pilots to prop up their jobs and the regional guys are feed up. I get it, why can't you?

If you want change and their support put this much effort into helping them, and I do believe they would have no problem back you up. Stop trying to strong arm them.

Agreed on all points but still, you are being a little shortsighted. If you want a job at a major airline in the next 10 years you will have one. No question about it, regardless of your background all regional pilots will have a major airline job in the next ten years IF you don't sell your future away now trying to stop this. That is the irony in your post, NAI won't harm current mainline pilots, it will harm you. ALPA is fighting for your future (and their future due monies).

I believe the saying is, don't cut off your nose to spite your face.

Once again, I agree that the model that NAI could be problematic, but why can't this kind of effort be mustered for the regional pilots? I am having a problem in that respect. It's like the king telling people they need to be taxed more to pay for some lavish palace. (Hey you can come by and visit, well from a few miles away)

Oh boy where to even start.

"regional pilots will have a major airline job in the next ten years IF you don't sell your future away now"

You act like its going to put the big 3 out of business. It's not. Quit placating us.

"ALPA is fighting for your future"

Alpa is an evil organization that must be disbanded altogether. Alpa only cares about alpa. They steal our dues while stepping on our necks. Eating steak and lobster while negotiated sh|tty contracts, letting the incompetent locals run amuck. Further, alpa doesn't take the temperature of the room before speaking on pilots behalf.

When Alpa needs something, we are a union. When alpa tries to distance itself, they claim thats what the local wanted.

I'm glad all this came up though, I have written my Congressmen and Senators about an hour ago and told them only certain pilots are against NAI, but at the regional level, where Congress knows we struggle to put food on the table, we support NAI and welcome them into our aviation family. We are looking forward to any employment that their presence brings. It will be good for the American worker, their families, and general competition overall.

I mean, they are. They are refuting claims that this is a pilot shortage and really a pay shortage.

www.alpa.org/en/advocacy/pilot-pay-shortage

And they made a video that was twice as long.

They are lobbying Congress for your pay. They just can't say "make them pay pilots more." That's a juvenile approach.

And by the way, I've been at my airline 4 years and make about $80k per year. You can't complain to the American people that you don't make enough when you make $80k after being in your job less than 5 years. If you can't put food on the table with that, then you should consider changing your spending habits
