Even if i lived in base, after 9 years its probably time to move on in order to escape severe vareer stagnation.

The company definitely wants upgrades. It's the only thing that's really hurting our recruiting efforts. One thing I will say though about upgrade time is that the gap between 9 year guys getting the upgrade now and 3-4 year guys like myself is shrinking a lot; atleast on CRJ side. Roughly only 150 guys in that gap of 5-6 years! Means if we ever got some damn growth upgrades will drop like they did at SkyWest. Not to long ago I remember they too had 7+ year upgrades. Amazing what some new EJets did to that upgrade time. Last I heard 2-3 yrs now, which is where Xjt needs to be and can be with some solid growth.

I hope so, ya 2-3 years is great. This company's future just seems so uncertain, and has no direction. Keep on keepin' on I guess lol I wonder if this voluntary captain displacement will keep up past the summer.

That's exactly why, too senior, too lazy with awesome schedule. ASA isn't a bad company, contract is pretty great if your senior. Probably one of the best ones out there. I definitely don't want to commute for another regional, and regionals are way to risky now. Too much unknown and flying being shifted around. Today its a DEC spot or 1 year upgrade, tomorrow it's displaced to FO or 3 year upgrade. Regionals are just 1 announcement away from 'Yay!' or 'Sh!t' depending on what their mainline partners decide to do. But I am moving on to greener pastures :D

I think they have been saying upgrades will be 3-4 years for the past 2-3 years... Maybe if you say it enough it will actually happen?

Reserve for life

As much as one would want to see new guys come to the front door, it just ain't happening. You got CAs on reserve 4-5 years, even FOs including myself over a year reserve. They say we are low on FOs but I haven't even broke guarantee this summer. I understand they want to keep as many reserves possibly just in case all hell breaks loose. Unless you live in Georgia or Detroit, I can't see why one would come here. Reserve is just too long. Don't let pilot recruiters brain wash you. You'll be reserve for a good amount of time. If you selected the 200, you'll be worked till you die with little pay. It's the reality! #aintevenmadbro

Looks like DFW 145s are going back to envoy starting in February - June.

Hello all! This is ExpressJet's Pilot Recruiting team. I wanted to take a moment to address a few questions/concerns on the thread:

1. We have no plans to close our Dallas base.
2. We are a well run, stable company with a bright future. We will definitely be around long-term.
3. Most new hires can hold any base they'd like right out of training. Worst case scenario, within a month or two.
4. While we want pilot candidates to succeed, we do require a knowledge, skills and culture test as part of your in-person interview. ExpressJet pilots have a long history of professionalism, skill and customer service excellence (which is why the majors prefer our pilots), so we expect our new hires to be of the same caliber.

If you have any other questions, please feel free to stop by one of our many career fairs and industry events, or reach out to us at [email protected] or via our Facebook page - facebook.com/expressjetpilotrecruiting.

Thanks!
Courtney

Is this still true? Will DFW remain open even though you will be doing no flying out of DFW?

so who has heard the rumor of 20 200's coming out of the desert? I know 8 are just tail swaps, but what about the rest? Two guys on the crew bus were talking about it and someone posted it on a Delta thread.

Announcement said CRJ flying to continue in DFW. ERJs going back to Envoy starting in January. Those pilots will be transitioned back to the United side, so ERJ DFW base will likely close.
