I am not a grad, but have seen the product. More of them work the line than you think, and their safety record is excellent.

The program works.
Is that a joke?

200tt? Anyone who would even think of the "quality" of training argument for this new meat in the seat stunt is utterly out of their mind. Not with my family on board, no way.

I can attest to the quality of the new hire training, from personal experience. I am completely sane, and work with the MPD grads on a daily basis.

Good luck avoiding USAirways, as we fly a considerable number of their CRJ's, DASH 8's and ERJ'S.

I would suggest not playing a safety record comparison game, as Mesa would score higher than most airlines that your family has already ridden on.

Hmmm. We need some truth-in-advertising here! When we talk about mesa and MAPD grads, we need to consider ALL of the mesa certificates which employ MAPD people...mesa, freedom, and UH OH! Air Midwest

Air Middie is in the VERY exclusive club of US airlines which have had a smoking hole accident in the last 5 years, a period of unprecedented safety for most domestic airlines. So no, mesa has one of the very worst safety scores of the century (discounting 911)

DISCLAIMER: I am not discussing any individual pilots here, just the company overall, so don't take it that way.

Unfortunately, most of those advice-giving major airline pilots are 15-30 years out of touch...

Lot's of us have done our time...it's the getting out that's the hard part, now that regionals cover such a huge percentage of domestic jet flying!

Good one! You're so smart! I wish I could spend 6 years at a regional!

How much were your per diem checks again? I can't remember, you only posted the amounts 23 times.

Does your chief pilot know you spend your time at the gate on these forums?

Three cheers for expressjet....no one cares!

I can see where all of you are coming from, but I know a guy who was told the same thing (take the first job offered no matter what) by an old airline guy who's been in the business forever. He didnt' work at a ******ty, airline, but he is so old-school that he doesn't keep up on all the nitty-gritty stuff in the regional world. The problem is when those old guys givin this advice are gone (which won't be long), those of us who are left will be the one's who do know what is going on...so maybe that stuff might not apply. I onced asked some advice from an old pilot working for netjets international, and he didn't know what i was talking about when I talked about the regionals (like who is who and stuff like that)...just because some captain at a major hasn't kept up with GoJets doesn't mean that the next generation of pilots is just going to forget about that kind of stuff....just a thought
