With base swaps and awards, despite what you are initially awarded you should get the base you want by the time you are out of training. The only exception is MIA and IAH for the time being. I never spent a day in the base I was initially awarded in training.

I’m looking at EWR and LGA, unless you have other suggestions. I should hold a line earlier in LGA? But as far as the commute (seats available), and best trips to fly (hours credit)

I did see a lot of the BOS LGA flown by Republic, but just read Delta and Endeavor are ahead of Republic priority. There are tons of flights, don’t know if they get booked.

Thanks
LGA or DCA out of Boston. Decent number of Boston commuters in DC. Idk about LGA. So keep that in mind even on own metal, there may be senior people bumping you down. Even still, the BOS commute doesn’t sound overly difficult.

Based on the guys in my class, you’d wait a bit to get DCA. I got LGA for the first bid after training.

Also a Boston commuter; come bump me up the list.

I’ll be commuting from CLT as well. If you look at the flights per day vs our metal you’ll see IND and CMH are good options. I was awarded CMH with first choice as PHL but am modifying to go with IND until I can hold a line in DC.

Visual break down to help me figure out best base to bid. Built for CLT commute, so hopefully helps some others direct or two legging through. Times for each base are earliest departure/ latest arrival. Should note this is based off a random week in Oct (same for all locations). Also should have done based on OE completed, but I’m too lazy to adjust.

Cool

I have a two hour drive to BOS or a 3 hour drive to LGA (no traffic).. Better to drive to LGA or shuttle in from BOS with all the flights out of there? Any comments would be appreciated...

Two hours plus a flight or a 3ish hour drive? I’d drive, myself...
