Bases are awarded during the second week of class. Generally Thursday or Friday, I believe.

The fact that somehow you knew there were base drops today in class means you know more then the rest of us. So why don't you ask your source that lets you know when the bases drop then post it here for the rest of us?

That might possibly be true now, but with a huge caveat. Reserve times at IAH and MCI are through the roof. More than 18 months. And increasing.

Pilot's will fly a lot on reserve now, but whether they'll get 65-70 block per month I'm not sure.

Reserve 18 months at MCI?? I thought it was fairly junior FO and senior CA?

Hadn't looked at MCI in a while, just know that it's been really stagnant. Not much in or out of MCI, and no growth, either. I'd bet that 8 months will increase.

IAH will go up a bit over the next couple of months, looking at the vacancies.

There is ALWAYS movement on the FO side, doesn't matter what the base. If it gets stagnant it is because there was a wave of FOs that got based there out of training around the same time which creates a logjam for a few months when they get close to upgrade. Guess what happens when they get to upgrade? A whole bunch of vacancies appear. This happens at MCI. ORD, MIA, and IAH. So what you see now is not what it is going to be like when someone take a job at Republic and comes out of training, that is why it is a waste of time to answer "how long are reserve times or how long does it take to hold base X".

I think it’s ok to ask and it’s not a waste of time. Those hiccups suck but it seems like what you’re saying is that reserve times are shorter then what was stated?

Agreed, but IAH and MCI are, comparatively-speaking, niche bases. Lots of commuters from places farther west. I'm most familiar with IAH because I'm based there, but there are more than a handful of FOs who won't upgrade until they can hold IAH, and a handful more who seem content to ride their seniority and not upgrade period. And with no vacancies on the CA side posted for the last 4 months, it's stagnant on the FO side, too.
