I have types in a few corporate jets, so I've had my share of the shiny jet syndrome lol, so definitely not chasing the 170 for those reasons. I have noticed that the 170 pretty much flies mainline legs. Is that not the case? People have told me they fly on avg 3-4 legs at most with a bulk of flying over 1.5 of flying per leg. I have zero interest in flying 5 one hour legs and overnighting in places like Appleton, Wi (no offense to people who live there) to be honest.

I also don't feel the DAL comparison is warranted except in the instance that a pilot were to have their pick of major airline (as is pretty much the case at the regional level) and wanted to consider as many aspects of the company as possible in order to make the decision that is the best fit for their lifestyle and goals.

All Regionals pull this crap now, and I can't really blame them. Gone are the days of one lump sum paid in the beginning. Blame it on too many FOs leaving early for LCCs and other places with better pay that weren't hiring FOs a few years ago.
The Regionals got sick of not getting the prorated bonus paid back when FOs do leave as per the contract you sign. The also found out they have very little power to get that money back other then that you will never work for that company/corporation again in any form. Also, they think it serves as some sort of incentive for FOs to stay at the company. Not sure that works though.
Now the bonuses are spread out over a long period of time and you only get a couple thousand here and a couple thousand there it doesn’t really seem like a bonus anymore but more like supplemental pay.

Then, Instead of insisting on actual wage rate increases, weak unions gave bandaids one after another. Now you have to pay them back if you leave.

I've been flying enough to know what I like and don't like. Why would I do something I know I don't like or put myself in a position that I know won't bring me joy? Doesn't make sense to me. So if that to you makes a person entitled, well.. then I guess I am.
I love flying. I love planes. I love traveling (while working), and lastly flying with a positive minded crew( there's that entitlement thing kicking in again). That makes me happy. Those things make me looking fwd to work.
Maybe DAL isn't for me. I am not opposed to commuting ( blasphemy, I know) either for the right job.
Have a great day mate.

I respectfully disagree. Many things go into deciding on a regional and I don't think the nature of the flying can be discounted as a factor. If you can make the same money flying fewer legs and overnighting in places that are generally considered more desirable, I don't see why you wouldn't want to (all things being equal, etc.).
I also don't feel the DAL comparison is warranted except in the instance that a pilot were to have their pick of major airline (as is pretty much the case at the regional level) and wanted to consider as many aspects of the company as possible in order to make the decision that is the best fit for their lifestyle and goals.
