I personally know of at least 2 cadet applicants that didn't make it through the process to get into Envoy. They both ended up at Republic. You can put the pieces together however you like. However, what it says to me is that no one wants to work for a contract regional carrier that constantly shifts flying and opens and closes bases on a whim.

Well that’s an extremely shallow statement to make. Yes, sure if you live in FL and have zero desire to move or commute maybe. If you’re not committed to accept constant change no matter who you work for then maybe the airlines aren’t for you. YX hasn’t made any statements about downsizing the company. They continue to remain the second largest regional with a top contract. If you choose not to adapt to landscape changes I would suggest another career. I hate to break it to ya but this happens at the majors as well. Your choice. Should have done your research prior to investing.
Sorry, but you couldn’t be more wrong. I had the pleasure of flying for Father Bedford for about 7 years and my last count I had was about 18 bases closed, with a few reopened as they saw fit. That is devastating for people to constantly deal with. No other regional does that. Bedford has a stiffy for out station basing and this is the result of that. Your comment about the majors is flat out wrong as well. Show me where a major has closed bases on their pilots. I’m sure it’s happened but I can’t think of one.
Think twice before flying for Bedford. Instability in your base is the most stable thing they offer. Unless you live in Indy. Then you’re golden!

DL- DFW, MCO, CVG, MEM (all in the last 17 years) I think they had BOS and ORD at some point too but I could be wrong.

This whole thread reminds me of that Saved by the Bell episode where Screech steals Violet Bickerstaff from Maxwell Nerdstrom.
