They cured fo attrition with money. Mo money will fix ca attrition and encourage upgrades.

Temporarily. Only one of my friends from my group is looking to stay and upgrade. Only time will tell how this will play out, but I hope the regionals implode.

It’s pretty clear the upgrade situation is dire everywhere except maybe the AA wholly owned airlines with the forced upgrades.

Right now, yes. I’m talking about the future. Give it 9-12 months and we could see it completely different.

And where is everyone going to go? All the regionals have delays now. Some longer than others but it’s just the situation we’re in. We’ll have to wait it out.

Our Jan upgrades are 80% full and Feb looks to be about the same. The question is, how long will they be here? Typically our CA are leaving before they're off OE, and no one can blame them. I'd be gone too if a legacy called me.

Even then, dozens of planes parked due to a lack of captains

Again I’m specifically referencing those candidates who are waiting or waited only to not be offered a job. I’m not talking about the current shortage. This whole topic is about fo class dates and classes being canceled.

Baring any industry changes or upsets it’s pretty easy to track trends. If they wanted to be proactive all they would need to do is open up interviews 2-3 months before they anticipate needing FOs. If they choose to be reactive about it’s it’s a very conscious decision on their part.

I agree completely. Probables with BB is that he’s reactive with things like this instead of proactive. I suspect an FO in the next 12-18 months. An artificial self-made shortage, but a shortage nonetheless.
