Crazy part is that they’re hiring sim instructors

Only non-seniority list instructors AFAIK. And the contract limits how many they can have, I believe.

I did notice that in my base CAs now outnumber FOs. Probably due to FO attrition. But the sim instructors I've flown with are VERY unhappy flying the line and all sounded like they were ready to leave if they didn't get put back in the sims by summer.

CQ is always happening and there are upgrades being awarded upgrade classes every month.

FO and CA numbers are starting to even out. New hire classes starting again in June at 50 per month, then increasing throughout the rest of the year. Probably be a normal pullback in Nov and December.

Sure but they're giving most of that to non-seniority list and staff instructors. Sim instructors used to never fly the line unless they wanted to.

This is just the thing I wanted to read! All this talk about FO surplus and I'm over here two months from reaching my R-ATP minimums with no airline job in sight! I can't keep instructing for another 6 months! These little potatoes are trying to kill me every single day!

Didn't they have to fly the line a month per quarter or something along those lines?

I'm not sure, but it sure wasn't as much as they're flying now.

You take captains wherever you can get them right now.

Is Republic doing anything with applications/ new hires at the moment? I submitted my app on WorkDay in January and made it very clear that I am a Cadet and a former Ambassador and haven't gotten anything other than the generic "Thank you for applying!" E-Mail. Beginning to wonder if I did something wrong...

It seems there is a big turn over/“retooling” of the hiring/talent department right now so things maybe a little slow. I don’t see this company hiring ANYONE above 15 a month for new hires either fo or street captains.
