Wow, I remember getting hired by Continental Express for $19.00 / hour in 2001, for the ATR 42 !

Short term, this could be the only option they have, if they want a 121 PIC job in a year from now. I could see someone getting through training at Cape fairly quickly and getting the scheduled 135 time, considerably quicker then going SIC 121.

In actually don’t know what Republic is paying year one SIC’s. I’ve only seen where SkyWest is at $90/hr. But, I suspect a lot of them are in the range now. I’d say it’s crazy too…. But honestly, they just got paid so little, for so long, this is more like normal.

$90.90 If you started today. Only four steps now so the max, if starting today, would be 97.82

It's been almost a month from the last post, wondering if there is any update. I'm a cadet, and when I met recruiters on a event, they told me they'd put in the October class.

Anyone know if they're starting to interview again yet maybe for summer classes?

I suspect there will be few if any new hire classes the rest of the year, and the seniority list will shrink down to +/-1700. There are few upgrades, no rentention incentives and lots of CA attrition

Except if you aren’t upgrade eligible and aren’t getting enough hours to even become upgrade eligible any time soon, that’s all the more reason to bail to an LCC/ULCC where you can get better pay and more hours to become competitive for the job you really want. And as more FOs depart before making CA, the CA shortage worsens.

Unless major hiring slows it’s gonna get uglier…

I did notice that in my base CAs now outnumber FOs. Probably due to FO attrition. But the sim instructors I've flown with are VERY unhappy flying the line and all sounded like they were ready to leave if they didn't get put back in the sims by summer.

Crazy part is that they’re hiring sim instructors
