Default Republic Hiring

Anyone have any information on how many they are hiring this year. I saw they recently posted FO positions on the web. Is this for growth or just replacing attrition?
Thanks

No numbers yet that I know of, but it's coming. We STILL don't have a contract.

I don't think they know how many they need yet. It depends how many furloughed guys take recall or resign. I do know that all the posted vacancies right now are in the EMB-170 on the Republic certificate on the east coast. Classes to fill this start on February 3rd. My guess is the February classes will be guys coming back from furlough and switching from the over-staffed 145. Probably by March or so will be new hires. Sounds like 170 classes until at least June.

Word of warning regarding coming here. If you do apply, know that this airline has furlough'd two of the three years I've been here. not trying to scare folks away, but you need to know how this company operates. They will furlough the minute flying reduces in the winter and hire in the spring. Be prepared. Currently the pilot group is treated little better than seasonal migrant workers. That's on the three (chautaqua, shuttle, and republic) certificates. I just think you should know what your getting yourselves into so if you come here, please beware and prepare. I'm sure there are others at RAH who will agree. Best of luck to us all!

+1. The only thing I'd like to add is that we've had an amendable contract since October of 2007, and management hasn't given an inch in negotiations. There are plenty of worse places to work, but there aren't a lot of happy campers here at RAH.

I would stay from here until we can unload the excess DEN baggage and get a new contract. Once we can get that done we'll be the place to work again.
