RAH already can't handle what's on their plate. Parking 145's against DL's wishes and in a lawsuit over it. Halved the UAL order due to staffing. Parked all the Q400's early.

Everywhere else seems like a shell game with mainline moving chess pieces to whomever can staff it right now, then moving again when staffing is a problem. Between UAL, DL, and WN alone there's going to be around 2600 or so hired THIS YEAR. That's more than the RAH list alone. It's happening.

Question:
I left the company after almost exactly a year. I recently got s letter saying I owe them money to pay back the signing bonus they gave me when I started. Is this a legit thing or is it a scare tactic of some sort?

Well, there are 2 ways to look at it.

1) You are a decent human being and need to live up to your word. You signed the contract, and you knew what you were getting in to when you went to Republic. They gave you the money as promised. You need to give it back, as you promised you would do.

2) You are a Bernie Sanders supporter. You are entitled to that money, even though you did not live up to your word. Heck, they owe you even more. You should demand another $10,000 for quitting.

I love this part. If you stayed "almost exactly" a year, you should "almost exactly" be able to keep the money......

Watch out, they may send Bruno and Rocco to your house in a month if their letter goes unanswered.

Do the right thing. If you can't pay, call them and say so. They'll likely work with you if you connect with them and explain your situation. Payment plans are better than collection notices on your record. Good luck!

Actually the lawsuit is being dropped. Apparently they came to an agreement.

Thanks for trying to put words in my mouth, but I am not okay screwing XJET/ASA as long as SW gets more flying. I personally would've preferred one list with fences, and I didn't buy into the scare tactic that all ASA/XJET pilots wanted our west coasts bases. There is a reason that Inc is afraid of 7,000 pilots on one list.

And no a 50% reduction in airframes doesn't mean a 50% reduction in profits. If you have 100 planes that are making you 1% profit and 100 planes that are making you 8% profit, you don't lose profit if you reduce the ones making you 1% and increase the ones making you 8%. Do you need less pilots to fly 1 plane that will hold as many passengers as 2? Yes, but attrition is taking care of that issue. SW lost about 500 pilots in 2015 and I heard XJET/ASA was way more. Yes stockpiling pilots won't work for the long term, which tells me something is in the works.

My earlier comment was only to point out that if you had a choice between SW and Republic, it would be wise to choose SW based on management savvy alone. SW has a smart management team. If fact, they are so smart that they continually convince the pilots that they don't need a true contract. Every sub par pay package that SAPA pushes on this group shows me how smart management is. BB on the other hand just sends out emails to his pilot group telling them they don't need more money, they just need to be more wise on what they spend it on.

Again, I don't agree with it but when ASA/XJET couldn't come to an agreement, SW Inc simply said they wouldn't bid for any new flying without rates. We were threatened with the same thing on our last pay package. "There is flying out there, we just need to be competitive to get it" I didn't buy it and voted no, but 67% of our pilot group thought it was the best they could do.

However, it I was looking at a sick cow that had lost 85% of its stock value and was telling it business partners that it needed to restructure it's contracts to stay in business... Or a sick cow that was getting rid of unprofitable flying and had 100 airplanes on order that were profitable, I know which one I would choose. And the point was and will always be that SW Inc is dropping airframes. SW Airlines is adding flying and hiring like mad. Republic is closing bases like DEN. If I had the choice between the two and only those two, it would be an easy call.

This was only because RAH wasn't associated with the Delta flying side. Shuttle and RAH haven't merged yet so RAH couldn't be sued.

first, who told you the partners didn't agree to some contract restructure, the forums? lol.

Secondly, regarding the above, what are you talking about, it's an RAH thing, not an YX, so doesn't matter whether it's Shuttle or Rep that's flying Delta, the group was sued, the case is now buried, we hugged and business and contracts will continue.
