Talk about wishing you'd dressed to egress.

Why didn't he turn back to the airport? Must have been a bad birdstrike to kill both engines. I heard that they shoot frozen turkeys at engines during certification and they still stay running. Who knows. Could have been any number of things.

Dual engine flame out over Hudson after hitting flock of geese ... my prayers go out to all those on board. Great job to the pilots for getting that plane down safely!! Can't imagine being in that water with a windchill factor of 6F!!!!

Just heard them say ALL pax got out safely!!! KUDOS to crew!! Heard that from FoxNews.

Fox news is reporting all passengers and crew off aircraft ok.

No reported deaths/missing passengers so far.

I"m happy to hear that is sounds like everyone is ok, and what an amazing job they did to keep that plane level and give everyone a chance to get off.

First of all, they're not frozen. That is an old wives tale. They are thawed.

Secondly, I don't think the requirement is for the engine to remain running. I think it just has to be contained.

Absolutely unbelievable. Has there ever been a "successful" ditching like this in aviation history?
