I saw that this morning. It appears there's a motive behind this.

Here's how it has affected our operation:
1. One of our airplanes is being sold, but the registration process can't be completed.
2. I have spent two days trying to notify a FSDO of a lease. This normally takes 5 minutes.
3. I have a temporary CFI that's about to expire.
4. Unable to schedule a 135.299 ride.
5. Unable to process PRIA records.
6. Conformity process on an aircraft is on hold.

Luckily, the IRS has contacted me to clarify a document stating they owe me $38. At least I have that going for me, which is nice.

In my second career working for the Federal Government, I am ASHAMED and EMBARRASED at how the Fed Govt has arbitrarily applied closures of offices, services to citizens, applied arbitrary furloughs, and generally tried to inflict maximum pain and confusion on U.S. citizens.

It is truly a sad day when the Federal Govt tries to hold U.S. citizens hostage and tries to administer payback to its own citizens, employees, and political representatives.

Who works for whom again? Something has gone really wrong here Lucy!!!

Off topic, you bet!

+1..

Only 14 more days until the Furlough becomes PERMANENT - Can you say Reduction-In-Force (aka RIF)....

This is a great time to polish the shoes, update the resume, get that navy blue suit pressed, and get a fresh 1st Class Medical![/QUOTE]

All part of the plan to make the lemmings believe that government is the best thing for them and, god forbid, how you could possibly live your life without government intervention and wisdom. Throw them out!! The talking heads in the scum stream media have no interest in telling you the truth because if you actually knew the truth, you might decide, once and for all, that government is way to large, expensive, intrusive and in it's current form, is clearly not in line with our Constitution! Wake up the sleeping giant, that's you.

A vacation, back pay (as I predicted), and a 1% raise!!! Life is good for federal government workers.

$17.6 trillion in debt and rising.

Life is also VERY good for a Legacy pilot that has 16+ days off per month, 14% B-Fund contribution and Flight Benefits..

We are all screwed until the American population steps up to the plate and makes a game changing swing. The Constitution says we can throw the bum's out, lets throw them!! I would love anybody's input on how the feds are going to pay off the debt without civil war and an eventual overthrow of the American way of life. Is it getting better? Are we sincerely better off then we were 20-25 years ago in terms of the size and expense and intrusive nature of the government? Not from my perspective, and I'm half crazy!

I guess it is ok for you to have that dream job but if anybody else has a good job then it is a bad thing?

1% pay raise? That wasn't in my welcome back e-mail.
After not having a pay raise in the - what - last 5 years, I guess some of my peers will be happy if it is true.

If you choose to teach or work for the government (for example), then you shouldn’t be surprised if the market disfavors those choices in favor of those who actually make tangible things for other folks to buy. That’s what markets do, and ours is a market economy. You should be content instead with the non-remunerative rewards of your chosen field.
