I can't think of any reason to go after c/b's, unless... the switch/button isn't doing zip.

I thought I had read that they were at 350 and climbed 3000fpm. But I see I read it wrong. Thanks for the clarification.

Have they recovered the cockpit end of the aircraft yet? I saw they got the tail out.

Once they do, it seems it would be easy to determine if the Capt. was in his seat or not, and also if the circuit breaker was pulled or not.

No updates. I'm not impressed by the Indonesian NTSC.

Where in the world does this whole "Tail Falling Off Airbus'" thing come from?

I remember (1) flight where this happened to the AA out of Kennedy. What others were confirmed that airbus has a tail falling off issue?

I hear people saying this all of the time. And just like any pilot, I too like to say what other cool pilots say, just for the sake of sounding like a cool pilot. Help me sound cooler

Agreed. Airbus just gets ends up getting a bad rap on the tail for no good reason. I know AA 587 was sad but people should accept the NTSB probably cause. There have been several books written by pilots disagreeing on the NTSB.

The A320 tail is something to reckon with. Here's a Syrian A320 that had a midair collision. Landed safely:

There were several other incidents where the same attachment points that failed on AA were damaged, and I think one foreign airliner had at least a partial tail separation.

I think the design was weak (although within allowed regulatory standards) , and that was a contributing factor.

Aviation Week did an article on this years ago, I recall that Boeing said the minimum design strength requirement was inadequate and that they always added more strength to the tail attachment than was required.
