Quote: Thank you very much. I initially said 747 to them as aircraft of choice but would take any aircraft. If they give me a choice presuming I get the job I will definitely go for the 777 now with regards to research and questions asked on here.

Just to avoid the commute to ANC and then after say 3 years with seniority move over to the 747 and hopefully just be able to hold Miami or LAX on the 747 and possibly even upgrade then.

Would a new hire on the 777 hold LAX straight away or within say 6 months?
You might be able to upgrade on the 737 within three years. I would temper any expectations or hopes of upgrading on the other fleets within that time frame.
The November vacancy award listed 12 777 FO slots in LAX for new hires. The December vacancy award has 777 vacancies back in CVG. So, I would think that you'd have a shot at holding LAX either right away, or shortly after being hired if you do get the 777.

Best of luck to you.

Thank you to you as well. Good to know LAX should not be too far off. I’m guessing with Southern now part of Atlas and from what others said the 777 route network will change a fair bit as well. Either way I’m sure the 777 flying whilst not quite as diverse as the 74 is still probably pretty good….👍

Why do you think the 777 route network will change? 8 777s fly for DHL. It does not matter if they use a SouthernAir, Giant, or Polar callsign. They fly where DHL wants them to fly. The other 777 flys for Caino (Alibaba) on that customer’s preferred route. Someday there might be additional 777s and they will fly where their customers want them to go. I do not think AAWW management is in a big hurry to buy 777s for charter work where they sit around between trips.

I was merely thinking out loud. Just thought that now they are in Atlas maybe there were alternative options. However I see your point and agree though, not being there I was unaware that DHL contract was with 7 of the 8 777’s. I

Yeah no point getting more 777’s if you can’t staff them. Still happy to go wherever they fly though.

8 of the 9 fly for DHL.

…or to further complicate things for you, 3 of the additional Titan Leasing 777s are leased by TNT/FDX. The 2 other Titan 777s are dry leased to AeroLogic who operates them for DHL.

The ANC commute isn't that bad. And ANC base means you often get a few extra days in ANC (or home if you want to go home) during your pattern.

That’s really good , so if you get extra fee days en ANC you can go home ( Seattle ) ? Quick question for everyone any good news for December interview?

It’s all relative. My commute usually takes 13+hrs one way and 2 stops. I can’t wait to get a different location.
