One pilot in the past week or so went directly from sim training at Atlas to UPS. Stories like that are happening on a very regular basis.

A good amount of them are former Military Pilots that ended their careers on a staff tour. They probably just needed 100 hours of Turbine recency in the last 12 months to get looked at by wherever they were trying to ultimately end up. Some might be MIL Rotary guys that needed a bit of fixed wing time to be competitive. Some might be Regional LCAs or Regional Captians with a lot of PIC that get a heavy type rating and immediately are competitive. There’s no magical formula but that probably makes up most of the cases.

It’s both Atlas and background (granted now is a better than most probably for anyone), but I will guess we will see a significant pull from the Big 3 and others due to the vast amount of early retirements taken and others were able to get work (mil guys back to their units). Surge will be significant as bodies are pulled to fill empty front seats. Plenty of iron still laying around and flights are packed.

Good but not great I'd say. It depends on what you're coming from and what your concerns are. It's CIGNA with a variety of coverage options. It's hard to find great these days, but a previous employer provided a really nice selection of Aetna plans. I'm covering a family of 4 and it's not terrible. I haven't had any surprises yet, but so far no kids have needed braces, surgery, etc.
