Yup. I had three days at the end of last month, with nothing going into this month (had a vacation a few days later). I tried YSing a three day and was even told by a scheduler that I'd get that three-day. Low and behold, I was awarded a five day! So yeah, protect your last day with a golden day!

Completely agreed. At the very least it should be a proffer and involve some sort of premium pay if accepted. Additionally, a firm minimum number of days off is needed. So in the case of a long transition trip, if it caused you to go below that minimum number of days off even by one day, you couldn't be offered or assigned the trip.
Green Slip up
I was called out for a 2 day green slip today and I answered the phone and accepted. The scheduler said the departure time was less than 2 hours and I just have to make the departure time. I agreed and started to get ready to go to the airport. I check my line to see what the full trip was even though the scheduler told me during the initial call. 12 minutes later, I got a call from crew sched while I'm getting ready to leave and they mentioned that the rotation will be taken from me and given to a senior pilot.

I called back and asked why if it was already assigned to me and the only explanation I got was he is senior and we get 2 hours to fix our mistakes.

I thought once they moved on and someone accept the trip then it is yours.

Should I get regular pay since in was on my schedule and I accepted it?

Thanks,
Quote: wondering how long it should take to drive from the San Diego area (actually Carlsbad) to LAX if planning to get to airport at 9:00 am on a Thursday. I understand it can vary but wondering if any of you lucky So Cal residents had some guidance.

Thx a bunch

These are the times I would use figuring for the standard LA congestion:

If you leave Carslbad at:

0500 You can get to LAX by 0630
0530 0715
0600 0800
0630 0900
0700 0945

If you are going to the employee lot give yourself 20-30 extra minutes. If you are getting dropped off at the airport get dropped off downstairs (arrivals) that will save you 15 minutes of gridlock.

Obviously an accident could change all of this. I pretty much use the above times and have never been late but I also use the carpool lane.

PM me if you have any more questions.

But be careful, the first day of spring was yesterday.

Thanks,
Call and ask scheduling supervisor.
Less than 12 hours they dont hold it and they move on. Once you accept the trip it should be yours.
If you dont like the answer call 1800 USA ALPA..ask for old Delta Scheduling Supervisor

The only way the could have messed up is if they did not call that senior pilot. He looked in Icrew and called them

Awesome. Thanks so much. I love the clip. The kids have really enjoyed the traffic (not so much butt hey do like the lane splitting motorcyclists).

Thanks again.

Thanks,
You are getting paid for it.
Reference PWA 23.Q.13

They can correct errors up to 2 hours prior to report.
If its inside 2 hours, you are paid protected if they made a mistake
He does not have 2 hours to fix the mistake.
He has "up to" 2 hours prior to reporting to fix it.
BIIIIGGGG diference.
Quote: Thank you RD... I will keep my two golden days at end of month to prevent a huge disappointment in April!
Here's the kicker...your responsibility to accept the trip is NOT ABSOLUTE. Let's say your wife works. If I had 2 RES days at the end of the month, and then I was off for a REG line the following month, and my wife happened to be working on the first day of that month, I would tell the scheduler that I couldn't accept the trip because I didn't have child care coverage. That would be perfectly acceptable, and they would have to find a replacement. There are other acceptable reasons, but you better have your game face on when you pull the trigger, because it may get a CPR (Chief Pilot Report) placed on your line, but you're perfectly within your rights of the PWA to refuse the trip IF YOU HAVE a valid reason. You DO NOT have to work on your days off, but YOU BETTER have a valid reason if you make that call.
Anybody with inside line when last AE training /conversion will be out?
