Any idea the best plane to bid for fastest way to SLC and how long it would take to get to SLC as a new hire? Thanks

73n/320/220 in that order would be my guess. But hard to tell.

our base change bidding here is awful and super unpredictable compared to other airlines. It makes it very hard to tell when you will get a new base. For one bids are only run a few times a year and they’re is no rhyme or reason as to when. And a second thing is after you are actually awarded a new base, the company has (depending on the type of bid) either 7 months or a year to actually move you to said new base. If you are awarded SLC on an AE (delta speak for vacancy bid) while still in indoc or sims it could still be a year before you actually see SLC.

you can probably get SLC on any NB on the first bid that is run after you are hired…but as stated above it could be awhile before you actually see SLC

looking back on what I typed it may have seemed overly pessimistic about the situation. Realistically I would say it would probably be attainable within 6 months, but there are lots of odd things they can do that makes a “you can have SLC on your fist bid here” turn into 6 months to a year from DOH.

if you have a CJO congrats and welcome aboard

Anyone know what the next classes will be?
I’m assuming 12/14 and maybe 12/28?

12/7 seemed kinda small, hopefully that is just a fluke

I assume 12/7 has flows, so that’s 20 more on top of the earlier bid list (they bid earlier, as they are technically held back 3 months).

3 classes in December is unusual in itself no? Usually only one class per month looking at past years.

I’ve heard they’re combining the last two classes so it’ll be over 100 in the class. Rumors also going around that they’re going to have spots on the 330 really soon for newbies.

That’s been a rumor for what like 5 years now?

Certainly not in the next several classes. There would have to be a new AE for that. There's supposed to be a "big" WB AE sometime in Q1 22, but I have a hard time believing there will still be open 330 spots after that bid. It's possible, but until it happens, we won't know.

I agree this is a great time for movement, last class just seemed kinda small compared to the last few months, that’s all.
