Quote: I will say this as somewhat of a miniature rant, but, I find it hilariously sad the number of guys we have here showing for work dressed like absolute slobs yet they want to be paid like United. That is all, carry on.
Sad that the union has to put out a fast read on how to brush your hair and iron a shirt.
Every time I get an a/c hand off, I'm glad to see the green lanyard, but many times it's accompanied by a crew member wearing dockers or a windbreaker. ***?
You certainly don't exude confidence being dressed like that. It's embarrassing that I can't tell you from our passengers.
That being said, it's kind of Spirit's fault. If they really cared what we looked like, they would have a rep come in from the vendor and fit our crews. They would also give first year guys a jacket.
On top of it all, these are the worst quality uniforms I have ever had.

Guys, during this time of contract negotiations being that the company doesn't want to negotiate for a fair contract, remember our slogan, "WHATEVER IT TAKES"..The only way we are going to put the squeeze on this management is to NOT pick up anything additional, no matter how appealing. I understand we all want to make as much per month as we can as do I, I have given up thousands to "HOLD THE LINE". We must be united during this negotiations process or the company will have no reason to give us an industry standard contract.. I am willing to give up a few hundred dollars this month to get multiple thousands over the life of a new contract. Let's all take a pledge to stand firm, gel together as 1 and get the contract we deserve.. JUST SAY NO.... WHATEVER IT TAKES!!!

Quote: It's not the quality of the uniforms, it's the quality of the applicant.

I've flown with new hires who look like complete slobs because that's who they are hiring. Guys with little pride/self respect. Do you really think polished individuals are going to come here?. I'm talking about guys who text while running the before T/O Checklist for Christ sake

PS. I'm not referring to all new hires but have absolutely noticed a trend lately
Really? Your just noticing? I've seen crew members show up with no tie and no bars on! Not a new hire. The dockers are becoming the norm with some. The shoes are a joke but never mind them because most people don't notice the shoe's because the crew has on a WWII bomber jacket that looks foolish. Sorry WWII is over! Press your shirt, have clean paints that have been pressed. Clean black dress shoes on. Not your tactical combat black Nikes. If you have to be told this information then chances are you will totally disagree. This is nothing new, it's Spirit culture. Not just new hires, it's old hires too.

Curious, would this be considered organizing an illegal job action? Not only that but doing it openly in public. Things can and will get really ugly here and this site might cost us dearly with comments such as these and calling out/harassing fellow crew members by name.
