Exactly. If we had a great contract and were doubling in size, you would see all the pretentious super pilots lining up; it's all relative. We do the same job in the same type of aircraft that all the super pilots at the legacies fly. This isn't complicated. I've never sat on a legacy jumpseat and said to myself "WOW these guys are good!" I know, and they know that we perform our jobs to the same safe standard. But apparently there are some morons on this forum that put Legacy pilots on a pedestal. Get a grip!

"No TA's were reached during this mediation session.

Future Mediation

The next and only remaining mediation sessions are scheduled to take place the weeks of September 18th and September 25th in a location still to be determined by the NMB.

The mediator made clear that the NMB wants to determine whether a comprehensive agreement can be reached during those weeks, rather than schedule additional mediation sessions after September. He also explained that the meeting location would be determined, in part, to allow direct participation by the NMB Member Harry Hoglander, if necessary to move the mediation process forward; and stated that the Company needs to have a comprehensive economic proposal ready for the next session."

Let's discuss the importance of this explanation by the mediator. No additional sessions on schedule and the THE reviewing NMB member will likely be making an appearance(s) at the remaining sessions. It looks like he is serious about completing his review on our mediation.

Secondly, will JP and MZ be attending the next session? The sexual tension in the room must be distracting.

Good luck guys. As of now we (SPIRIT) have no other sessions scheduled after our Sep 6,7,8 meetings. Mediator "expects" to close it out and us get a T/A. We are still very far apart so I'm assuming you guys will pretty much end up having similar situation

Have you been assigned an NMB member for direct review? Perhaps Hoglander as well? I think many of us here at F9 will be watching with great interest.

Imagine if the NMB pulls it off and we both get good TAs.

We have Senior mediator Puchela (who I believe is similar to Hoglander) as well as another Mediator who I believe is relatively "new".

Puchela was assigned to us after the May meltdown, lol

What are the chances of the NMB releasing two airlines at the same time? Is this timing intentional on either side or complete coincidence?

Wow! Linda Puchala isn't a senior mediator, she is the chairman of the NMB! Literally the highest ranking member of the NMB. If she's having to step in to oversee your mediation, and your management is playing games, there's no one that can get you released faster than her.

We have Harry Hoglander, the other NMB (board) member, overseeing our mediation sessions. Gerry McGuckin is our regular mediator, and by his resume I would consider him both experienced and favorable.

Currently the NMB is operating with two board members, Puchala and Hoglander, but it is typically three. Both current members are democrats, the third that left was a republican. Two republicans have been nominated by Trump's cabinet for the NMB but haven't been confirmed. After their confirmation the speculation is that Puchala will stay and Hoglander will go, leaving a total of three.

At least if the confirmation of the new NMB members is completed the Spirit pilots (probably) will have continuity with Puchala.

Doubt release is in the cards for either group. Probably either ice us for a bit, or schedule more dates. Believe that's what happened with Hawaiian.
