Quote: He's always been welcome to give his opinion here, as far as I'm concerned. A good (or bad) argument is a good (or bad) argument regardless of who's reciting it.

That being said, getting through training hasn't made him any less of a tool.
Honestly I’d love to meet some of you guys in person. Since apparently everyone knows who I am, come say hi next time ya see me. I’ll buy ya a coffee. I’ve enjoyed the majority of the crews I’ve flown with so far here.

Quote: I’m curious on this argument. Does anyone know what the Air Wisconsin schedules were like when they were doing virtually the exact same flying? Or how are the schedules for C5? They were a former Dash airline doing the same type of flying we do.
Awac had much better duty rigs and min credit in schedule.. also philly schedules took a dump with the bank reduction. Also we are doing much less frequent flying to many of the out stations that used to be done.

May schedules will be better when the 2 extra daily banks come back.

Back on the dash, 6 plus leg days were common with quick turns on days 2 and 3 and days 1 and 4 were usually 3 or 5 legs.. this was prior to the bank reductions.

Quote: I mean, in fairness, there were only like 20 lines of 11 days off this month. Majority are 12+.

I wonder when our line pilots will start to realize the schedules are a byproduct of our flying that American gives us and not the way we sort the pairings...

It’s nothing new, but these schedules are a ton better than last March.
Just couldn’t help yourself.

AWAC schedules were wayyy better. Granted min days off was 12 there. But majority of the lines were 13-15 days off with 80-95 hrs credit. The senior guys could get 16-18 off with min guarantee. And they also had min 3 days off between trips.

We are at the point that anyone can make it through training, FO or CA. I know of one CA who failed his first try at the jet and then passed the second time, but probably shouldn’t have. Blamed all his failures on the training department when in reality it was all on him. So far I’ve had very little issues with anyone, so training is doing their job pretty well for how many people they have been needing to push through.

Is this based off anything more than your anecdotes?

Partly. I’ve flown with said party and had talks with he/she about their attitude and how it needs to change prior to upgrade. Speaking down to everyone and having no respect for the people who are involved in getting these planes in and out is not very professional. From the FOs I’ve spoken with, it’s seems to be continuing.

Problem folks like that have had a way of working themselves out. Our pro standards have been very busy lately.

I understand your point and your concern. I just question that running into one person like this is indicative of a tangible trend.

One person is a trend?! How about all the other people that operate with professionalism and respect all those “one persons” don’t count?
