Quote: I remember voting for CB as Exco and he won overwhelmingly. He is however, no longer the Exco and I as a line pilot was not given a chance to vote on someone else when he stepped down. Our current Exco got there thru union politics, not through a vote by the pilots.
There are provisions for recall if you’re not satisfied with the status quo. Have you started a petition process so that you can vote and/or campaign for your agenda and/or your preferred candidate?

CB resigned his position as exco before ending his term. And there was a subsequent election of multiple candidates to change exco. People don’t up and leave high level leadership positions in organizations like the revolving door of Allegiant upper management? Seems to happen all the time around here. I’m astounded every day there hasn’t been a cleaning of the DO and the underlings. I mean really man; Allegiant management has their clock cleaned to the tune of about 13 million dollars in the ego driven wrongful termination of Kinzer and those guys who fired him are still here? Talk about conspiracy hush-hush stuff and non-disclosure agreements.

A little birdie told me hiring will resume this summer. Maybe even a class in June. Much conflict within management about the staffing levels. Many are refusing to admit they were wrong and about to be overruled. Still doesn't look like any of the FOs want SAV or GRR so new hires can count on that. Stay tuned.

I've heard that too on my last recurrent.
I say IF we hire it'll be one class of 15ish in the first half of June to help fill up the new bases, especially GRR. Than nothing until spring 2020.

There's no real need to hire just for GRR/SAV, those slots can be filled by VBD and then TDYs. I think reality might be hitting in terms of staffing when we have multiple daily VFN's and we aren't even in the busy season yet. One VFN for a senior FO would probably pay for most of the monthly salary of a newhire.

Management is upset because hiring blows away the narrative of being over staffed. Management needs a bogey man to use as leverage in order to threaten a furlough, lest the bad union gives them relief on all of these arbitrations they are losing, will lose. The chickens are home and about to roost and it’s going to cost them.

Just like when it cost them to non-disclosure away to the tune of 11 to 13 million for wrongfully terminating Captain Kinzer.

Heard the possible hiring is to replace all the pilots that can’t stop looking at their phones after push and before completion of parking check.

Should be hundreds of openings!

Glad of any hiring! However, what does hiring in June help with GRR/SAV or anything really? If they run a class in June the new guys won't be ready until Sep/Oct. By then the busy season is over. If they were hiring for GRR/SAV or the summer in general, they would be doing it now.

If they are hiring for anything else (general staffing?), why do it in June when most instructors are flying more to cover the heavy flying season? If they wouldn't be ready for the busy season, why not hire in Sep to be ready for the holidays?
