Aircraft are purchased months and sometimes even years before they are inducted...was there something else that you heard or saw about finding new aircraft?

No, just that It was not listed as one of the tails that was inducted during the transition emails, and that if we still have all of the 319s and 320s that we did in November this brings us above the 76 we were at when we lost the 6 Airbus. Also going through the log book in the airplane it was not received and registered with the leasing company or Allegiant until 12/12, induction testing and maint checks were completed on 12/22

FWIW~ You’ve got seven jets in induc right now at BQN: two 320s; 242 and 243 and five 319s; 315, 320, 321, 322 and 323 as well as one new build 320; 276, in the registration process now, about to ferry. This brings you to 84 when they enter service soon.

I’m interested in Allegiant but have a few questions about the airline. First I know it looks like new hire classes are pretty small and seem few and far between, what kind of time are guys getting hired with at Allegiant? 1000-121 PIC, 2500TT, 1000 turbine time? Is there a specific number they are looking for before an interview? Also what would be a junior base for a new hire, what is a typical schedule of a low seniority pilot, 12 days off? What kind of flying are u doing during ur work days just an out and back or are u flying 3-5 legs everyday? I really like the idea of being home every night but what QOL and Pay would I be giving up at another LLC or waiting for a flow to mainline at my current airline?

Plenty of guys in the last wave of new-hire classes (2017) had zero TPIC, plenty also had a heck of a lot of TPIC.. doesn't seem to be a limiting factor. Around 3000TT for a min (possibly less based on other experience like 121 time).
Junior bases currently include PGD, TYS, VPS though with very little if any movement right now it's hard to say how/if the next vacancy bid would change that. The other thing that's hard to predict is that quite a few of the bases are extremely seasonal (see: PGD, VPS, etc) and are very busy during peak and very slow during the off peak months. During off peak months plan to spend a few months at a time TDY'd to some other base if you're in the bottom 20% or so in seniority in bases that slow down.
Majority of folks get 12 days off, guaranteed if on reserve to not get more than the min. At the current rate involuntary reserve is lasting several years with no real light at the end of the tunnel. As far as actual line flying, you'll either do a single turn or a double, AM or PM. Pretty easy flying for the most part.
Hard to say if/when hiring would ever happen again although most have a theory. Good luck!

7 pilots per airframe is completely unrealistic. In most bases each airframe does 2-3 turns per day, which requires four pilots. You also need two pilots to cover AM/PM resv. You're already at 6 pilots right there, and then you need to give pilots at least 11 days off, so now you're looking at 9-12pilots per frame, depending on how the utilization goes on a daily basis. Adding additional frames to a base might lower the pilot per/frame due to fewer reserves needed, however it seems like a 1:3 ratio of reserve line/flying line is the max you can go. That said, going to more and more small bases only decreases efficiency.

Like I said they are going to push the reduced staffing until it fails which it will. Then suddenly we will be short handed and hiring like 2015 behind the power curve. Except this time they won't get anywhere near the quality candidates because so is every other airline. Short sighted as always. But hey we got go karts and a hotel in a swamp. Hows that stock price doing?
