What do you think they should spend the money on.... I think getting questions answered in a public form in front of actual investors is a very worthwhile use of our additional dues.

I would be nice if they would be transparent on updating us on what the extra dues are being used for. Not a peep of communication since it passed.

Our next legal battle will be when management violates the dual base 150-minute callout for reserves. Add that to the immense amount of blatant disregard for our existing contract. The list grows along with the court battles that are strategic policy to break the financial back of the pilot group through legal fees.

The union already did this. The dues are for G4 managements policy of blatantly violating the contract at will. They stated this and that’s what it’s being used for. MG has ordered that the contract not be honored which forces the pilots to grieve it. The rla allows for this and management is taking full advantage. The dues are for the tremendous amount of legal fees it takes to force management to honor the contract.

I get the same emails you do, and your comment is spot on.
With that said, my statement was "since the assessment passed" we have heard nothing.
All I was getting at was a progress report as to any gains made with grievance's/PBS etc with the assessment funds.

I didn't know you were aware of a line pilot survey that confirms your statement? They're growing the airline and diversifying, calm down. You seem to enjoy being pessimistic or just enjoy spreading it? But its my observation it isn't the general feeling on the line.

If you’d like to influence the direction of these sort of strategic moves, I’d suggest volunteering for one of the applicable committees or running for a spot on the ExCo next time round.

I’ll admit that the opposite could occur wherein the secondary businesses could bolster the airline side should it experience hard times, but I would expect that a few family fun centers, golf course software and a hotel in Punta Gorda would have only a marginal buoying effect and would do nothing to stop our management from taking the traditional actions (furlough, etc.) if the airline were to stumble.
In other words, the Allegiant airline employees are being subjected to new and unnecessary risk for which there will be little to no benefit.
Do I hope this works? Certainly. However, I am well aware that every time that an airline has tried this sort of thing, the arrangement found itself on the ash heap of history.
The company isn’t necessarily going “all in” on this, but with past and planneded CAPEX for these projects likely to easily exceed half a billion dollars, or about 25% of the company’s market capitalization, they are not exactly proceeding with caution.
If the union is expending resources to question this sort of behavior, I’d say that it is money well spent.

The union did have a survey for the assessment and the membership agreed as a whole and voted to have it. It was an almost 4 month process from start to finish. The exco was also voted into their respective positions as well.

I remember voting for CB as Exco and he won overwhelmingly. He is however, no longer the Exco and I as a line pilot was not given a chance to vote on someone else when he stepped down. Our current Exco got there thru union politics, not through a vote by the pilots.

Interesting take on events. The unpaid hours the EXCO puts into representing us is unbelievable.
In short anyone blaming the union for issues at Allegiant is missing the bigger picture. Please speak freely but better to do it in person with a rep. They volunteer their time to help out. Take a second before posting here and call them... no harm in that.
It’s easy to think there is some sort of conspiracy when in actuality there are people trying their best to help you.
