Last word is no hiring in 2019. I'd reapply in 6 months and hope for an early 2020 class.

He could probably re-apply now with a different email address.

Until they start hiring steady I wouldn’t recommend coming here anyway. You’ll be tdy’d and never be home being junior and with zero movement.

It’s normal at the airline I work for. I started as a cruise relief pilot on the A330. A year later I was cross qualified on the A340. 2 years later I got upgraded to fly as an FO on both the A320 and A321. Got upgraded to fly the A330 after a year (usually takes 3 years where I work, but the company bought a lot of new planes and at least 100 pilots senior to me didn’t have their ATPL & I got upgraded sooner). 6 months later I took a CTR course on the A350.

I had to sign a contract for ea training, 5 5-year contracts.

Not sure if it counts for much here. I don’t get to tick Type Rating on the online applications. I paid for my FAA conversion and didn’t want to spend extra $10,000 just to put a type rating on my FAA ATP.

I’d likely get rejected again with the same experience.. I’m guessing it’s the lack of PIC and/or 121 time.

5 5-year contracts! I hope you can serve your sentences concurrently! I have 2 JAA ATPL types I didn't put on my FAA ATP, and I have a suspicion my OCONUS hours didn't count when I started applying stateside. Good luck getting in!

I wouldn't worry about getting hired here anyway. We're the lowest paying ULCC and we aren't hiring anyway. Our leadership has no interest in growing an airline. I would guess about 50% of our daily departures report show a decrease in the number of departures from the same day in the previous year.

If we can't find a way to grow the airline in good economic conditions, how will we fare when things get bad? I see no no hope for our current management. There is no will to be the best or grow.
