When it comes to an interview and they ask about the failures, OWN IT! Talk about what you learned and how it made you a smarter and stronger aviator going forward. Talk about how it made your drive and desire all the more greater. DO NOT blame it on a bad instructor or examiner, an unfair situation or unlucky set of circumstances against you, AIN'T NOBODY GOT TIME FOR DAT!Originally Posted by Macchi30
What are the minimum requirements to get accepted into the cadet program? I’m a CFI and soon to be CFII. I’m about to apply to work at a school that is listed as a partner with PSA and supports the cadet program. The only thing I’m a bit worried about is I do have 2 checkride failures. The PSA Cadet page doesn’t mention anything about it, but I’m wondering if that would prevent me from being accepted into the program.
Anyone else looking to interview and any 121 should take this advice. The airlines are hungry for pilots but they don't want excuses and they don't want to hire someone who will wash out. Own your mistakes, we all make them.
