Quote: It is a "non-compounding" bonus that you get each year. And the number listed is the maximum you can receive. If you had a leave of some sort during the year, you won't receive the max amount. Another retarded feature of our contract. Just make a higher pay scale for the longer service. Sheesh...
Oh, but you have to be a PIC in order to receive this bonus! The lowly, second class SIC's get nothing but their salary after year 14.

True enough. Like I said, another retarded part of our contract.

I really liked that there was no 40k pay bump for FOs and no bonus after 14 years. FOs should know their place...

Agreed...this was purely a contract negotiated BY Captains (ML and MP), strictly FOR Captains. What blows my mind are the FO's that voted 'yes' for this POS - pathetic.

And negotiated by non-international Captains at that.

Domestic per diem raised 25%. International per diem raised 6%.
Minor dispute relief and travel committee input for DOMESTIC hotels ONLY.
NOTHING in the contract to memorialize even the ridiculous 10 hour coach seat policy, let alone require business class for flights exceeding flight time, duty time, or time zone limits.

Let's not even go into how ML manufactured the removal of the only GLC negotiator from the committee.

The same bus that ran over the FO's ran over the GLC (PIC's and especially SIC's). And ML was behind the wheel.

Are you saying the union didn't expend enough negotiating capital on you guys? Based on your lack of participation at pickets, and just doing your jobs (instead of extending a $%# ton), the union probably assumed things were pretty good for the GLC crews. They focused their efforts on the pilots that showed their dissatisfaction with the contract by picketing and not going above and beyond during negotiations.

If you were one of the few that showed up to a picket, or said "no thanks" to an offer to extend, thanks. If you were one of the guys that decided to extend and spend an extra night in Rome, or couldn't be bothered to attend one of the pickets, I hope you enjoy your middle seat, you earned it.

That is a separate argument. Even as a new hire during negotiations, I could tell that the pilot group and the union had all the aces in their pockets, then folded at the last minute. A few people not picketing isn't the reason 75% voted yes and it isn't the reason that the negotiation committee basically gave the company whatever they wanted. There were no victories gained in this contract. I'm sorry but keeping paid medical benefits isn't a victory, it was already there.

No it's not. Had the GLC guys just done their jobs, and not extended, that would have put a lot more pressure on the company. Selling off an XL trip from FL to NY is a lot different than selling off a London to Chicago. Did you see the monthly posts on the MB showing who extended? It was pretty much the same group, month after month.
