I just saw a story on my ALPA daily email that said E9 leaders unanimously endorsed this extension. If I read the document correctly, it looks like you guys get small gains at the 5 year point or if you work to FAR limits. Basically work your butt off or be an E9 lifer to see gains. Did I read that correctly? If so I don't get how this is any kind of gain whatsoever.

Are there significant gains elsewhere in the contract? Just trying to gauge what ALPA leadership considers worthy of unanimous support.

I don’t know where you got those ideas. Care to elaborate on how you came to those conclusions?

If you’re not just trolling from DAL, then you can read the details here: Ta 2017

I'm just asking. The document I looked at showed less pay for years 1, 2, and 3 between the new and old. No trolling. I don't see how that is good when many pilots goal is to leave ASAP.

Over $23 an hour extra in pay across the board, 100% 401K, positive space on second flight commute, betterment in reserve and long call.....

Small gains?

And this is an LOA not a new contract.

Just over $50 an hour for FY FO, up to $63 and some change 3rd year. Unless someone moves to CA by year three, at which point one would be north of $93.

23 an hour in exchange for Worse reserve rules. While number of lines continue to shrink in MSP and DTW... but the reserves get an extra day off but no credit to a day available not called. So it potentially Hurts the pay of reserves. Perhaps give us line holder type protections such as pay protection for schedule trips cancellation pay protected start and end times and ability to pick up a trip that touches a reserve day so we can guarantee a commute in or out and best of all for both parties how about language that guarantees a red reserve day means anyone can pick up for 200% and reserve days must be available to pick up to make the day not red

This deal is clear that the company wants more room to abuse the reserves with less coverage and less reserve lines needed without giving real pilot protections or any career advancement to our reserves

9E.

Getting 100 credit hours here as a line holder takes about 75 hours of flying. For a senior FO 100 hours may take as little as 5-10 hours of flying if all your trips are bought off so your captain can do IOE.

Reserve rules currently suck(apparently not much though), this new TA makes them better. Some lifers who refuse to commute are upset theyll get used more. You see they are ****ed because theyve been able to work the system to stay in base a little extra. Now what's happening is an across the board increase in days off for reserve, but some senior CAs on reserve just figured out they could probably get more days off on old reserve rules rather than the new system because their contract trick was removed. Now they'll get used more, away from home more, and their supposed pay cut (dont ask) will be erased by increased utilization.

Why doesn't a person like that commute? Because living in base on reserve is better than commuting for a 18 day off line in their opinion. In other words reserve is fine and getting better but if they don't yell about it angrily online people will realize that reserve ain't that bad and he and others like him won't be reserve king sitting last out.

Our work rules, soft pay and protection, lead other regionals. So not only do you make more, you accrue hours of credit faster.

I understand your concerns about reserve, I'm not on reserve so I'm not sure how it would effect me, bases come and go though, I wouldn't bank on any base being permanent based on how many have come and gone since I've been hired.

And turning a bonus into hourly wages even at less money is better than a bonus that expires in a year.

I'm paid by the minute and every dollar increase over my current hourly rate is more money. 100% matching 401k, this LOA is a no brainer for me.
